It is one of the Government’s Roads of National Significance and is being undertaken by two Alliances - the north (delivered by partners Fulton Hogan, HEB, WSP and Aurecon) and south (delivered by partners Downer, McConnell Dowell, Beca and Tonkin+Taylor).\nThis exciting new four-lane 24.8km highway project will dramatically improve safety and resilience, providing better access to walking and cycling facilities for those moving around or through the Horowhenua and Kāpiti districts.\nKey role responsibilities:\nManage the teams and sub-contractors within your area and coordinate with other teams to ensure optimisation of resources and efficiency\nPlan the execution of the works and develop construction methodology for all elements of the works\nProvide a monthly forecast of cost to complete to the commercial manager, and an estimate of the work completed in terms of percentages complete to the planner\nProvide technical advice and resolve on-site issues as they arise\nReviewing drawings, specifications and construction methodologies \nMaintain a safe and tidy site, assisting in the development of management systems and ensuring compliance within your team\nMonitor expenses, process invoices, and contribute to financial reporting.\nUndertake regular inspections & driving health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across the project.\nWe’re looking for someone with:\nHold a bachelor/diploma in civil engineering at NZQF Level 7+\nHave a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Site Engineer within a structures civil portfolio that includes reinforced concrete, bridges, retaining walls, piling, and/or treatment plants and pipelines, State highway flyovers.\nProven experience working with contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders\nHave commercial awareness and understanding of programme, cost, quality, and risk management with proven experience\nExcellent leadership qualities\nDemonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills\nA collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentoring and developing others\nGood Work equals Good Benefits\nCompany vehicle\nKiwiSaver employer contributions\nAdditional Fuel discount card\nParental leave top-up payment with additional return to work support\nFamily scholarships\nOngoing training and development, career growth and progression opportunities\nGreat discounts at a wide range of retailers\nMedical insurance (an eligibility period applies)\nLife insurance \nAt Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and grow with us. \nIn partnership with NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, Muaūpoko Tribal Authority, local hapū of Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga, and the Horowhenua District Council, this project will be executed through a two-alliance approach.
