It is one of the Government’s Roads of National Significance and is being undertaken by two Alliances - the north (delivered by partners Fulton Hogan, HEB, WSP and Aurecon) and south (delivered by partners Downer, McConnell Dowell, Beca and Tonkin+Taylor).\nThis exciting new four-lane 24.8km highway project will dramatically improve safety and resilience, providing better access to walking and cycling facilities for those moving around or through the Horowhenua and Kāpiti districts.\nWith strong technical capability and hands on experience in project-based quality management, you’ll know how to turn standards into action by being a key influence towards the teams to keep quality front of mind from the start, helping reduce defects and rework while making sure systems, processes and controls are applied properly and consistently.\nKey responsibilities\nDevelop, implement, and maintain Project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Lot Packages, Work Packages, and associated documentation\nDrive quality planning, assurance and control activities across the project.\nMonitor and analyse project performance against the agreed company Quality KPI’s and business objectives accurately reporting this to the Project Team on a timely monthly basis.\nPreparation, distribution and monitoring of quality audit schedules and ensuring completion of audit actions.\nConduct regular on-site visits to all work areas across the project to ensure site quality audits.\nCoordinate inspections, test plans, audits and quality records to support compliant delivery.\nPartner with project teams, subcontractors and stakeholders to identify issues early and implement practical improvements.\nMonitor non-conformances, corrective actions and close-out activities to ensure strong quality outcomes.\nIdentify quality risks and opportunities for improvement and proactively implement solutions\nCollate appropriate records to drive final sign-off by the client, designer, and other stakeholders.\nSupport a culture where high standards, low ego and continuous improvement go hand in hand.\nThis is a role with real reach, where you’ll work across internal teams, subcontractors, designers, clients and key stakeholders to drive better outcomes and keep delivery on track.\nWe’re looking for someone with:\nA qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction ideally minimum level 7 NZQA\nExperience as a Quality Engineer or similar role on infrastructure, civil construction or major project environments.\nExperience with the use of AutoCAD, ArcGIS, RAMM and Road Eng.\nHave good understanding of relevant quality standards (ISO 9001 and related frameworks).\nStrong working knowledge of quality management systems, audit processes and compliance documentation.\nThe ability to analyse issues, improve processes and keep quality outcomes moving forward.\nConfidence working with project teams, site teams, subcontractors and client representatives.\nA proactive, accountable approach with strong attention to detail and follow-through.\nGood Work equals Good Benefits\nCompany vehicle\nKiwiSaver employer contributions\nFuel discount card\nParental leave top-up payment with additional return to work support\nFamily scholarships\nOngoing training and development, career growth and progression opportunities\nGreat discounts at a wide range of retailers\nMedical insurance (an eligibility period applies)\nLife insurance \nAt Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and grow with us.\nThis major infrastructure project, currently in construction, is a Road of National Significance and contributes to building a transport network that enables people and freight to move around efficiently, quickly, and safely. The project involves 3 million cubic metres of earthworks as well as the construction of 10 bridges, 19 culverts, 8 stream diversions and 7 wetlands.
