Our product delivers operational efficiency and insight to investment management professionals - family offices, fund\nadministrators, and alternative fund managers.\nThe Data Migration Specialist (DMS) is a member of the Implementation team, responsible for transitioning the data required to build an operational database in FundCount. The Implementation team handles the efficient and accurate onboarding of new FundCount clients and their training. Our clients are single- and multi-family offices,\nfund administrators, and hedge funds who hold a wide range of public and private securities and general ledger transactions. The DMS plays a critical role in ensuring historical data is transferred efficiently and reconciled with official records.\nOur Product\nAll portfolio and partnership accounting activity in FundCount is aggregated within one software system and flows through a single general ledger. Investment information is consolidated, accurate, and instantly available, providing the insight and foundation needed for in-depth analysis that drives decision-making. Our clients are single- and\nmulti-family offices, fund administrators, private equity firms, and hedge funds.\nResponsibilities\nApply expert Excel and related database programming/management skills to export and organize data from legacy systems for import into FundCount.\nPerform data validation tests to understand and improve data quality.\nDocument data flow through legacy system antecedents and other databases.\nPerform quantitative and qualitative analysis where necessary in recommending process improvements.\nAssist in the creation of new - and the maintenance of existing - data import and export interfaces between FundCount and 3rd-party systems and services.\nDevelop Excel-based macros and scripts to automate data collection, analysis, and reporting.\nBuild validation and reconciliation reports and dashboards to confirm migrated data ties out to official records.\nWork on multiple data migration implementation projects simultaneously.\nInterface with internal staff to implement data migration tasks.\nManage data migration testing and reporting.\nHelp identify design and interface process improvements.\nCreate systems integration documentation.\nSubmit the results of work into the Jira tracking system, properly describing and organizing each task according to the company’s established workflow.\nTechnical Skills\nThe core technical toolkit for this role spans spreadsheet automation, business\nintelligence, data querying, and scripting. Strong candidates are hands-on across the following areas:\nSpreadsheets & Data Automation\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel - complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data validation.\nExcel VBA / macros - automating data collection, transformation, and reporting.\nExcel VBA / macros - automating data collection, transformation, and reporting.\nBusiness Intelligence & Reporting\nMicrosoft Power BI - building reports and dashboards for validation and analysis.\nDAX - authoring measures and calculated columns.\nData modeling in Power BI - star-schema design, relationships, and table structure.\nDatabases & Querying\nSQL - writing queries to extract, profile, and validate data.\nWorking knowledge of relational database structure and data-integrity concepts.\nComfort with structured data formats used in import/export interfaces (XML, CSV, JSON).\nProgramming & Scripting\nPython scripting - data transformation, automation, and batch processing.\nGeneral scripting aptitude and a genuine interest in applied programming.\nJava and JavaScript - nice to have, not required.\nCritical Success Factors\n2+ years of relevant experience creating reports for business users of ERP systems.\nAdvanced MS Excel knowledge and an understanding of SQL queries.\nUnderstanding of the principles of analyzing large data sets and identifying patterns to define rules.\nAbility to learn new things quickly and work both independently and as a member of a project team.\nExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.\nNice to Have\nExperience in the accounting, financial, economic, or banking sector;
