We are hiring an electrical engineer to evaluate sites, define electrical infrastructure upgrades, and lead deployment of modular GPU-compute nodes from diligence through commissioning.\nYou will be a field-oriented technical owner. You determine whether a property has viable power, equipment, fiber, access, and permitting conditions, then coordinate the utility, electrical contractors, engineering consultants, network providers, equipment vendors, and property teams needed to deliver the installation safely and reliably.\nWhile this is a remote position, frequent travel to properties across the United States is required.\nWhat you'll do\nVisit Fundrise properties and assess electrical readiness for modular compute deployments.\nReview one-line diagrams, service capacity, transformer and switchgear ratings, feeder capacity, breaker availability, backup power, grounding, and onsite physical constraints.\nIdentify required utility upgrades, electrical scope, long-lead equipment, permitting requirements, risks, costs, and schedules.\nManage electrical design, contractor bids, equipment submittals, construction, testing, commissioning, and turnover.\nCoordinate with network providers to validate fiber routes, carrier availability, building entry, redundancy, and turn-up requirements.\nDevelop a repeatable site-readiness standard and a concise go/no-go investment memo for each property.\nWork with compute, cooling, controls, and property teams so installations operate safely without compromising building operations or the resident and tenant experience.\nMaintain accurate as-builts, capacity records, commissioning documentation, and vendor performance data.\nWhat we're looking for\n4-8 years of experience in electrical engineering, electrical construction, commissioning, critical facilities, power generation, industrial infrastructure, or data centers.\nAbility to interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, equipment submittals, and construction documents.\nExperience with medium- and low-voltage distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS/BESS, protection coordination, or power-quality issues.\nExperience managing contractors, consultants, schedules, and technical risk in the field.\nComfort traveling frequently to properties across the U.S.\nStrong judgment, clear written communication, and willingness to work across real estate, utility, construction, and technology teams.\nA Professional Engineer license, EIT credential, data-center experience, utility coordination experience, or electrical-contractor project-engineering background is preferred but not required.\nScope of the role\nThis role is not responsible for serving as engineer of record.
