We combine first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system.\nWe've raised over $200M from top-tier investors including Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, 20VC, Hummingbird and Collaborative Fund, alongside strategic angels including Nico Rosberg and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify and Uber.\nWe're building a fully integrated energy company: developing our own solar, batteries and other generation projects, building our own hardware, improving and developing grid infrastructure, trading power in real time, using AI across the business, and installing distributed energy in homes. By selling directly to consumers we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass the savings on to our customers.\nWe’re looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our China supply chain team. As an early member, you’ll own quality across our external factories, working directly with our Head of Supply Chain China and our UK R&D teams. We’re looking for a hands-on engineer with deep technical acumen, who can audit a production line, find the root cause of a defect and enforce stringent quality standards with top-tier suppliers under compressed timelines.\nResponsibilities\nAudit supplier production lines and quality systems, and track corrective actions to closure\nOwn quality through new product introduction (NPI): first article inspection, pilot builds and ramp to mass production\nWork with R&D on manufacturing standards, certifications and acceptance criteria, so quality and compliance are built in at source\nRun incoming and outgoing quality control with clear acceptance criteria for each supplier\nLead root cause analysis on defects (8D reports, FMEA) and push suppliers to permanent fixes\nTrack supplier quality performance (defect rate, yield)\nBe the real-time link between Chinese factories and our UK teams on quality\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM discipline from a top-tier university\nSupplier quality, manufacturing quality or related experience in hardware, electronics or manufactured physical products\nHands-on factory audit experience across multiple external manufacturers\nWorking knowledge of 8D (structured problem-solving report), FMEA (failure mode analysis) and SPC (statistical process control)\nStrong understanding of electrical and mechanical components, specifically PCBAs, power electronics or battery packs/systems\nAbility to read technical drawings and specs and tell a supplier exactly what is wrong\nAbility to enforce stringent quality standards and consistently deliver under compressed timelines\nFluent written and spoken English and Mandarin\nWillingness to travel regularly to supplier sites\nOrganised and resilient, comfortable owning the day-to-day of supplier quality\nBenefits\nCompetitive salary and eligibility for equity\nBiannual bonus scheme\nFully expensed tech to match your needs\nPrivate health insurance\nBreakfast and dinner allowance for office-based employees\nAs we hire globally, benefits vary by location.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3135,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[{"language":"English","level":"All
