This role collaborates closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate complex technical concepts into concise, accessible content. The ideal candidate is outgoing, enjoys working with people, and is comfortable proactively engaging subject-matter experts to gather information.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelop, edit, and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, release notes, procedures, FAQs, and internal knowledge articles. \nInterview and collaborate with engineers, product owners, and other SMEs to capture requirements, workflows, and technical details. \nTranslate complex technical information into clear, concise, and well-structured content appropriate for the target audience. \nApply and help enforce Fuse style, terminology, and formatting standards across all documentation. \nAssist with organizing and maintaining document repositories, version control, and document management processes. \nParticipate in design and review sessions to understand new features and document them accurately and on schedule. \nIncorporate feedback from peer reviews and stakeholders to continuously improve documentation quality. \nRequirements\nRequired Qualifications (Must Have):\n2+ years of experience in technical writing or editing. \nSecret Level Security Clearance (or ability to obtain). \nExperience in writing, editing, or publishing, including within a technical or military environment. \nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an outgoing, collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams. \nExperience with engineering development tools such as JIRA and Confluence. \nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Professional, or similar tools. \nDemonstrated ability to quickly learn technical concepts and explain them in simple terms. \nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines. \nPreferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):\nKnowledge of Navy/Marine/Air Force style guides. \nExperience with Government (Navy or DoD) documents, processes, procedures, or terminology. \nKnowledge of DoD acquisition documentation and joint service requirements. \nKnowledge of systems engineering, test engineering, or a related technical discipline. \nUnderstanding of version control tools (e.g., Git) or ticketing systems (e.g., Jira). \nKey Competencies:\nPeople & Communication Skills: Outgoing, comfortable initiating conversations, asking clarifying questions, and facilitating discussions with technical and non-technical stakeholders. \nCollaboration: Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team; receptive to feedback and able to negotiate documentation priorities. \nCustomer Focus: Writes with the user in mind, anticipating information needs and pain points. \nDetail Orientation: Produces accurate, consistent content with minimal errors and strong adherence to standards. \nContinuous Learning: Proactively develops technical domain knowledge and writing skills. \nMore about Fuse:\nFounded in 2010, Fuse is a veteran-owned, rapidly growing small business.
