All employment offers will consider such factors as overall experience, job-related qualifications, location, certifications/training, etc.\nResponsibilities\nIdentify, manage, and treat specific skin disorders\nOversee all direct wound care activities to ensure practices are consistent\nCoordinates weekly skin rounds\nPerform assessment evaluations using techniques including observation, and inspection\nConfer with the Care Planning Team in the development of treatment for skin disorders within established wound care protocol\nMonitor the use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning and positioning\nAssist in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident, in accordance with established medical practices, the regulatory guidelines and the policies and goals of this facility\nProvide information to resident and caregivers on prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve the general health and psychosocial status of the resident\nPrecept new nurses and demonstrate individual procedures to new nursing staff\nParticipate as requested in the planning and conducting of in-service training classes concerning dermatologic nursing skills and procedures used within the facility\nParticipate in Performance Improvement program as assigned such as wound and nutrition committee\nComplete and provide follow through on all incident reports as appropriate\nAbides by the standards identified in FutureCare’s Statement of Corporate Ethics and the Corporate Compliance Plan\nQualifications\nMust hold a current certification and RN license in Maryland\nMust have an active certification in wound care\nAt least one-year experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred\nPrevious experience in skin care treatment a plus\nMust possess a positive and professional attitude\nAbility to work independently and accurately to complete required documentation\nAbility to demonstrate positive and effective communication skills to facilitate positive interpersonal interaction\nAbility to remain calm and patient when dealing with residents \nAbility to problem solve and work well under pressure\nAbility to show empathy and compassion while interacting with residents to increase their comfort level\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nFutureCare has a longstanding policy of providing a work environment that respects the dignity and worth of each individual and is free from all forms of employment discrimination, including harassment, because of race, color, sex, gender, pregnancy, age, religion, national origin, citizenship, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, physical or mental disability, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
