We also regularly have ambitious external deadlines we must meet, with many tradeoffs in what makes the research valuable. And brilliant researchers have strong opinions - as the saying goes, if you ask 3 researchers a question, you'll get 4 opinions.\nBalancing these factors is an enormous challenge. This Program Manager, Research must rapidly make excellent judgment calls balancing these constraints. These judgment calls - to start up a new direction, to wind down an existing direction, to change the nature of a deliverable - are high stakes and will require adroit negotiation with stakeholders.\nThe Program Manager, Research works closely with the VP of Engineering, VP of Research, and the CEO.\nRequirements\nA strong technical background\nExperience delivering high-stakes research at high quality, and under time pressure\nExcellent communication skills, high tolerance for disagreement, proficiency in negotiation and compromise, and high empathy for those who disagree\nA track record of successful operation under great uncertainty and ambiguity\nHigh consciousness and attention to detail in fast-paced environment\nGreat ambition in positively influencing the direction of frontier AI\nBenefits\nFutureSearch is fully remote. We concentrate in London, with SF and Berlin as our next most traveled work locations.
