The VFX Editor also has the ability to create a functioning environment where the Visual Effects Supervisor can evaluate any version of any shot in the current sequences, for aesthetic and technical direction. This position works closely with producers to manage all incoming media and outgoing deliverables.\nRequirements\nMaintain sequence edits and inserting visual effects shots into the timeline\n\nManage and document the turnover of shots from editorial through to delivery including ingesting new media into pipeline\n\nEnsure Shotgun is maintained with current shot counts, lineup and any retime instructions\n\nEnsure that published shots conform to the current edit and perform basic QC checks\n\nPrepare sequence edits for internal and client approvals when required\n\nCreate daily playlists and operate the screening room system for dailies\n\nPerform shot specific colour corrections to match editorial reference when required\n\nPerform shot retimes to match supplied editorial reference when required\n\nCreate rough shot mockups as proof of concept for artists and supervisors\n\nWork in partnership with vfx teams and compositors to ensure shots are delivered to the very highest standard while maintaining schedules.\n\nEssential Skills:\nMinimum 1 years of editing experience within the film and television industry\n\nAn eye for detail and thorough understanding of techniques, file formats, colour-space, software and technology relating to the live action visual effects\n\nExpert knowledge of Final Cut Pro\n\nWorking knowledge of Nuke, Shotgun and Tweak RV is considered and asset\n\nProven accuracy and organizational experience\n\nAbility to convert between key numbers, time-codes and frames\n\nExcellent communication and multitasking skills\n\nProficient at working on time sensitive projects with passion & patience\n\nDesirable Skills:\nExperience with OTT platform, Films or similar\nDegree or relevant course in film editing is a plus.","description_format":"text","description_chars":2121,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":1,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-21T06:23:02Z"}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":2,"expected_fill_days":14,"reasons":["conf:1","win:early","comp:junior"],"computed_at":"2026-09-24T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/futureworks-dev-jr-vfx-editor","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/futureworks-dev-jr-vfx-editor.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-24T22:36:36Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":784,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":4216,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-09-25T00:00:00Z"}}}
