Purpose

• Provide support on assessment of strategically important transactions for the Group across Asia region, including M&A, partnerships, joint ventures and strategic investments

Key accountabilities

• Support on the execution of Inorganic Activities for the Group in Asia, including merger and acquisition, strategic investment, strategic joint venture, bancassurance partnerships, restructuring and divestment, and any such other similar activities throughout the year, across the different markets
• Supporting a range of responsibilities for the Group Strategic Investments & M&A team, including building business case, coordinating due diligence, driving valuation and financial models, supporting presentations and approval materials preparation to facilitate a timely and robust decision-making process
• Preparing transaction material, including bid letters, management meeting materials and transaction documentations
• Driving and/or participating in industry analysis that would provide insights and impact FWD strategy vis-à-vis inorganic activities
• Responsibility for the ongoing development of market and competitor monitoring and knowledge database to facilitate transaction activities
• Perform ad hoc responsibilities and duties as assigned

Qualifications / experience

• 3 - 4 years relevant working experience for candidates from in-house insurance M&A, corporate development, and/or actuarial functions, financial services consulting, management consulting or transaction advisory background.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, economics, business or related fields from an accredited university
• Actuarial background is a plus.
• Candidate with or on path to professional qualification (e.g. CFA / Qualified Actuary / CPA) will be an advantage
• Ability to coordinate and work with internal stakeholders with limited guidance

Knowledge & technical skills

• Knowledge and experience across Asian insurance markets preferred
• Understanding of insurance related business and financial metrics
• Strong analytical, financial modelling/valuation and corporate finance skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset and strong relationship-building skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
• Independent and innovative thinker with can-do attitude
• Bilingual fluency in English and Chinese
