Founded in 2023 as part of the Goodman Masson group, G MASS Consulting is a specialist resource augmentation and consulting firm headquartered in London, United Kingdom. The company specializes in delivering targeted technical expertise and skills-mapping solutions for the financial services industry. Utilizing its proprietary Talent Analytics Engine, G MASS provides specialized services spanning operational resilience, regulatory compliance remediation, digital asset product launches, cross-border expansion support, and enterprise change and transformation management.

We’re partnering with a regulatory reporting platform, as it builds out the data quality and assurance expertise within its regulatory operations business.

This is a client-facing role rather than an in-house one. You will be deployed into engagements with institutional clients of the platform, assessing the quality of their regulatory reporting, establishing where it falls short, and helping them put it right.

The work is assurance-led. It involves testing reported data for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness against the requirements of the relevant regime, quantifying the extent of any issues found, and supporting the remediation that follows. Engagements frequently originate from internal or external audit findings, so the analysis needs to withstand scrutiny from a client’s own auditors and, where relevant, their regulator.

The role suits someone who has come from the regulatory reporting assurance space - whether from a specialist data quality provider or a professional services assurance practice - and who can pair technical testing rigour with the presence to put findings in front of senior client stakeholders. This is a 12-month engagement based in London or elsewhere in Europe, with two days per week on site and delivery largely from client offices. The role is expected to start next month.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the quality of clients’ regulatory reporting, testing submitted data for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness against the requirements of the relevant regime.
  • Design and execute data quality testing and reconciliation routines across client reporting populations.
  • Quantify the scale and materiality of the issues identified - how many transactions and which fields are affected - so that clients understand the true extent of their exposure.
  • Perform root-cause analysis on reporting breaks and exceptions, tracing issues back through upstream data and source systems.
  • Support clients through remediation arising from internal or external audit findings, from initial assessment through to corrected submissions.
  • Produce clear, evidenced documentation of findings and recommendations to a standard that withstands external scrutiny.
  • Apply data quality and assurance tooling to automate testing and improve repeatability across engagements.
  • Present findings to senior client stakeholders, explaining both the issue and the practical route to resolution.
  • Advise clients on strengthening their ongoing reporting controls so that the same issues do not recur.
  • Work across the reporting regimes in scope for each client, rather than specialising in a single regulation.

Requirements

  • A background in regulatory reporting assurance or data quality, gained either with a specialist provider - Kaizen, Novatus, RegTek (Bloomberg), RegX, DWAR, or similar - or within a professional services regulatory reporting assurance practice.
  • Hands-on experience of testing regulatory reporting data for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Experience of audit-driven remediation - working from internal or external findings through to corrected submissions.
  • Strong data analysis capability, including SQL, with the ability to interrogate large reporting populations and evidence conclusions rigorously.
  • Breadth across regulatory reporting regimes - EMIR, MiFID II / MiFIR, SFTR, CFTC, or SEC - and the ability to move between them rather than depth in one alone.
  • Strong root-cause analysis skills, with the persistence to trace reporting failures back through upstream data and systems.
  • Clear written communication, producing documentation that stands up to review by auditors and regulators.
  • A confident client-facing manner, with the credibility to present findings to senior stakeholders and defend the analysis behind them.
  • Consulting or client-delivery experience is a strong advantage.
