Together we’re building a world-class platform to amplify our teams’ most powerful ideas.\nAs part of our engineering team, you’ll shape the platforms and tools that drive high-impact research - designing systems that scale, accelerate discovery and support innovation across the firm.\nTake the next step in your career.\nThe role\nWe are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to drive the reliability, performance, resilience and security of our network and network security infrastructure.\nKey responsibilities of the role include:\nOwning the operational performance, stability, availability and security posture of network and network security platforms end to end\nEnhancing observability across telemetry, alerting and performance monitoring using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus and ThousandEyes to enable proactive operations\nImplementing and maintaining scalable, resilient datacentre network infrastructure built on Cisco and Arista technologies\nChampioning automation of operational tasks using Python, Ansible, Jinja2 and Git\nSupporting and extending Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD practices for network provisioning\nOwning break/fix and incident response for complex enterprise and campus network issues\nDriving incident management practices, including on-call rotation, escalation procedures, postmortems and root-cause analysis\nImplementing and managing WAN CEs, with knowledge of MPLS or Segment Routing\nWho are we looking for?\nThe ideal candidate will have the following experience:\nStrong background as a Network Engineer in enterprise or large-scale environments\nExperience applying SRE, observability and automation principles to networking, using technologies such as Python, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Ansible and Jenkins\nExperience with Cisco and Arista switching and routing, alongside network security infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS/IPS and network segmentation\nExpertise in Cisco and Arista platforms, including IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS and EOS\nIn-depth understanding and hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, EVPN, VXLAN and MPLS\nExperience with network monitoring tools and predictive analysis systems\nWhy should you apply?\nHighly competitive compensation plus annual discretionary bonus\nLunch provided (via Just Eat for Business) and dedicated barista bar\n30 days' annual leave\n9% company pension contributions\nInformal dress code and excellent work/life balance\nComprehensive healthcare and life assurance\nCycle-to-work scheme\nMonthly company events\nG-Research is committed to cultivating and preserving an inclusive work environment.
