About the role

G2 Risk Solutions is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Controller to join our fast-paced finance team as a maternity leave replacement.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency. This position requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and cash flow reports.
• Perform payroll-related activities, including payroll analysis, payroll validation, payroll data reconciliation, and payroll payslip reviews, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
• Support employee-related financial processes, including onboarding, terminations, Form 161 preparation, and coordination with payroll providers and HR.
• Monitor accounts receivable and collections activities.
• Support revenue accounting processes, including revenue recognition, deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and commission calculations.
• Maintain accurate accounting record of intercompany processes.
• Support annual audit processes and coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and consultants for statutory audits, and tax returns.

Requirements

· 2+ years of experience as an Assistant Controller at a tech startup - a must

· CPA with a Big 5 firm experience - a must

· Proven experience in applying US GAAP standards - a must

· Excellent level of English (written and verbal) - a must

· Proficiency in Netsuite and advanced Excel skills

· Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented and multi-tasking skills
