About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and inquisitive Junior Risk & Compliance Analyst to join our growing team. In this role, you will support the assessment of companies operating in the online payments and e-commerce sector. You will analyse business models, review merchants and websites, and help identify financial crime, fraud, compliance, and regulatory risks before they impact our client’s business.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments and background checks on merchants, companies, and websites
- Review merchant business models for legal, regulatory, and compliance risks
- Assess compliance with card scheme requirements and industry regulations, including Visa and Mastercard standards
- Research potential fraud, anti-money laundering (AML), financial crime, and reputational risks
- Identify anomalies, irregularities, and red flags through open-source research and internal reviews
- Monitor merchant websites and online activities as part of ongoing due diligence processes
- Document findings and prepare clear investigation summaries and risk assessments
- Produce compliance, risk, and due diligence reports in English
- Support merchant onboarding, monitoring, and review processes
- Work closely with Risk, Compliance, Operations, Product, Sales, and Customer Support teams
- Provide subject matter support on merchant and compliance-related topics
Requirements
- Initial knowledge of online payments, e-commerce, fintech, banking, or financial services is an advantage
- Basic understanding of compliance, AML, KYC, sanctions, fraud prevention, or financial crime concepts
- Interest in regulatory requirements and digital business models
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
