You will wear many hats during the construction and commissioning phases of the project, and ease into your steady role over time.\nJob Summary\nThe Process Engineer is a support role to the Production department, focusing on process improvement, product quality improvement, and cost-saving initiatives.\nEssential Duties\nSafety\nDaily safety inspections of working areas\nDaily interaction with hourly teammates to discuss safety issues\nEnforce strict adherence to all GAF safety policies and procedures\nStay informed of industry best safety practices and incorporate them into the Plant operations\n\nPerformance Metrics\nSupport Production department in achieving the set goals of production rate, machine uptime, and raw material yield\nUse statistical tools (SPC charts, DOE, Pi trends, Braincube) to minimize variation in the production process\nUse engineering principles to identify and remove bottlenecks in the manufacturing process\nWork with hourly teammates to refine procedures and methods to increase production efficiency\n\nContinuous Improvement\nUsing knowledge of engineering principles, work with suppliers and vendors to bring new technologies to the Plant\nCoordinate with the Plant Engineer on capital projects that increase the efficiency of the production line\nWork with the quality department to identify and correct quality issues stemming from the operation of the manufacturing line\nTrain hourly teammates on production line set-ups to maximize efficiency and finished product performance\nCoordinate trial planning, implementation, and follow-up with both internal and external customers\n\nEnvironmental\nSubmit required reports to state and federal agencies as dictated by the Plant operating permits\nAct as main contact for Plant’s environmental consultant\n\nOther Duties\nCarry company provided cell phone to respond to off-hour issues as needed\n\nQualifications Required\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required\n\nExperience in manufacturing, especially paper industry or roofing is preferred\n\nGeneral Knowledge, Skills and Abilities\nExcellent interpersonal skills\n\nStrong attention to detail\n\nAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneously\n\nAbility to work as a team player\n\nTechnical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities\nAdvanced knowledge of engineering principles\n\nKnowledge of continuous web manufacturing process\n\nTravel Requirements: 5%\nBase salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
