And under this roof, we protect what matters most.\nJob Details:\nThe Corporate Automation and Controls Engineer IV provides technical expertise and direction for control and automation systems. This position assists with control and automation systems, data acquisition, and production network management. This position will either have responsibility for multiple plants or for projects that affect multiple plants.\nThe Corporate Automation and Controls Engineer IV is also responsible for troubleshooting electrical problems as they relate to the production line process. This position will provide ongoing technical guidance and coaching/mentoring to the Plant Controls personnel to strengthen their troubleshooting and repair skills.\nThis role is responsible for general engineering work that supports technical innovation, complex system design, and advanced problem-solving. At the manager individual-contributor level, it leads high-impact engineering projects, resolves complex technical challenges, and establishes technical standards without formal people-management accountability. Success in the role depends on deep engineering mastery, technical influence, and guiding cross-functional project teams through specialized expertise and operational discipline.\nThis role will require 60% travel. \nApplicants currently residing in the following states will be considered:\nAK, AZ, CA, CO, CT, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MA, ME, MI, MN, MT, ND, NE, NJ, NM, NY, OR, RI, TX, UT, VT, WI, WV, HI, SD, WY; AL, AR, GA, FL, MD, NC, SC, PA.\nEssential Duties\nSpecific responsibilities include (divided into four major categories), but are not limited to:\nPlant engineering support:\nAct as the primary internal engineering resource concerning control systems. • Identify opportunities to improve plant performance.\nShare best practices across the organization.\nStrategic project development:\nHelp create and maintain controls team standards.\nShare and enforce standards across the organization.\nLead and facilitate strategic projects that cover multiple plants.\nLead and facilitate new plants/processes.\nPlant support and troubleshooting:\nProvide plant support in instances where local plant personnel or regionals are struggling.\nProvide relevant training for control systems where applicable\nProvide troubleshooting expertise through remote support and onsite support when necessary\nProvide ongoing technical guidance and coaching/mentoring to plant controls personnel and regional engineers to strengthen their troubleshooting and repair skills.\nControl Group Coordination:\nCoordinate with controls group for information and Standards\nMust maintain knowledge of contemporary technology and its application to this industry.\nMust communicate with controls team members through attendance at controls team meetings, conference calls, technical support (Based on GAF policies)\nPerform other duties as assigned at the discretion of the manager of this position.\nQualifications Required:\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering Required\n5+ Years of Controls Engineering experience in a continuous manufacturing environment is required\n10+ Years of Controls Engineering experience in a continuous manufacturing environment preferred\nMust be legally authorized to work in the U.S., without current or future requirements for sponsorship of an employment-based visa status\nProficiency with Rockwell Automation software - Studio 5000, RSLogix 500, FTView, CCW, and FTAC.\nProficiency selecting, configuring, and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PowerFlex variable frequency drives\nHMI development experience - FTView and/or Wonderware\nExperience with maintaining Production networks, including servers and managed switches\nExpertise focused on electrical components, electrical power distribution systems, PLC’s, instrumentation, and variable speed AC drives\nDemonstrated process control experience in defining, designing, installing, and maintaining control logic systems and equipment in a continuous process manufacturing environment\nEffective communication skills.\nProficiency selecting, configuring, and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley Kinetix servo drives\nExperience selecting, configuring, and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley safety PLCs, I/O, and STO hardware\nDemonstrated experience of leading controls projects to fruition: Preparing scope, meeting with vendors, evaluating vendor progress, and managing the installation/startup.\nDemonstrated ability to use trending and other analytical tools to troubleshoot process issues.\nControls SME with a continuous web handling operation\nDeep understanding of basic electrical theory.\nKnowledge of electrical/electromechanical devices\nKnowledge of different types of instrumentation and how to calibrate them; Pressure, temperature, flow.\nKnowledge of different types of instrumentation and how to calibrate them; Pressure, temperature, flow.\nAbility to tune PID controllers\nControls experience with a continuous web handling operation is preferred, not required\nBase salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
