GAF’s Finance Rotational Program is a 2 year program designed to develop high-potential talent into future finance leaders. This is accomplished through a series of rotations consisting of 6-12 month periods across the following Finance departments:\n12 months for Corporate Accounting\n12 months for Revenue Management\nJob Summary for Corporate Accounting role: We are searching for an entry level accountant who should be able to work independently or as part of the team, be well-organized, detail-oriented, and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This position will be responsible for assisting in the coordination of the monthly close of the general ledger system and the year-end audits, oversee the general ledger system, various journal entries, analysis, and reconciliations. This position will work on various projects as required as well as participate in the design, planning, and implementation of process improvements and consistency objectives. The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Knowledge of PeopleSoft and G-Suite is a plus. CPA or candidate is preferred.\nEssential Duties: For the initial rotation within Corporate Accounting, the tasks will include:\nLease Accounting:\nRecord and reconcile lease transactions in the general ledger in compliance with lease accounting standards ASC 842\nMaintain accurate records of lease-related accounts, including amortization schedules and payment entries.\nCollaborate with other departments, such as legal, IT, accounts payable, procurement, and plant accounting to ensure complete deal information\nAsset Management\nSupport the buildout of asset management processes and policies\nPotential for travel to participate in plant asset counts\nMonth-End Closing:\nAssist in the preparation and execution of month-end closing processes.\nReconcile and analyze accounts as assigned, including lease accounts\nEnsure timely closing of books and accurate reporting of financial results.\nAd Hoc Projects\nSupport special projects and initiatives related to general ledger accounting.\nProvide assistance with system upgrades, process improvements, or new policy implementations.\nFor the subsequent rotations, the specified tasks will be defined within 4 weeks of the rotation start date.\nJob Summary for Revenue Management role: We are searching for an entry-level Finance professional who can work independently or as part of a team, is well-organized, detail-oriented, and has the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.\nThis position will be responsible for assisting in financial forecasting, pricing analysis, and strategic planning. The role will involve analyzing finance and sales data to support decision-making, preparing reports to communicate insights, and contributing to the development of financial models. This position will also work on various projects as required and participate in the design, planning, and implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and consistency.\nEssential Duties: For the third rotation within Revenue Management team, the tasks will include:\nData Analysis:\nSupport the revenue management team in the analysis of pricing actions and their financial impacts, including price/volume tradeoffs, P&L analysis, and customer segmentation\nDevelop and maintain relevant reports and dashboards that aid in analysis\nOffer insights and recommendations to improve profitability\nUtilize tools like Excel,TM1 and SAC for data analysis.\nRevenue Management Strategy:\nAssist in development of overall pricing blueprint incorporating market analysis, customer comparisons, and channel strategy\nSupport development of pricing playbooks and corresponding after action reports (AARs) for major pricing actions including national price increases and annual incentive planning\nCollaboration:\nPartner with sales, product management, and customer experience teams to further enterprise goals with a focus on profitable growth strategies\nWork closely with FP&A to provide input to planning and forecasting activities\nUnder this roof we require:\nBachelor’s Degree in Accounting required. \nUnder this roof we prefer:\nDemonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, & analytical skills\nAbility to effectively communicate ideas and build relationships\nStrong attention to detail\nAbility to multi-task & handle multiple projects simultaneously\nDemonstrated teamwork and leadership abilities\nPrevious internship or co-op related experience \nKnowledge of accounting concepts, practices and procedures\nAnalytical and statistical knowledge\nIntermediate knowledge of excel\nTravel Requirements: May require occasional travel in connection to job duties as it relates to conferences, site visits, professional development or learning opportunities, etc. in which advance notice of travel expectations/events will be provided.\nIn-Office Schedule: This position is based in our Parsippany, NJ corporate headquarters which currently operates on a hybrid in-office schedule.
