Located between Charlotte, NC, and Columbia, SC. Chester is in a prime location for anyone with any interests varying from hiking, hunting, and fishing, to enjoying the cuisine, culture, and activities expected from larger city environments. The Chester Glass Mat facility boasts a highly tenured workforce of just under 100 employees. As our employees will tell you, when you come to Chester, you'll never want to leave!\nEssential Duties\nTrain and become proficient in multiple operating positions, including but not limited to Loader, Fiber Feeder Operator, Rewinder Operator, Utility, and A-Station.\nParticipate in all housekeeping functions for assigned crew.\nParticipate in all short-stop/down day activities for assigned crew.\nAssist as needed with logistics department.\nMust operate assigned machinery in compliance with standard procedures.\nResponsible for operation of equipment in a safe manner to prevent damage to equipment and prevent injury to self and others. Must wear safety and health protective equipment as specified.\nMust be able to safely load and unload material using a forklift and/or clamp-truck.\nIn addition to the forklift, there will be other basic material handling tools. A hand truck, drum truck, etc., will be used when it becomes a more efficient method of material handling.\nMust be able to operate a computer as well as multiple computer-based systems.\nMust keep accurate operational records as directed.\nMust show a commitment to working in a team environment, while keeping a positive attitude and a willingness to be flexible.\nOther duties as assigned.\n Qualifications Required\nH.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required\nManufacturing experience preferred, but not required\nAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few physical variables in everyday situations.\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
