In this role, you will be directly responsible for processing outgoing payments, posting daily entries in Peachtree, issuing client invoices, and preparing monthly VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), Employment Income Tax and Pension Contribution declarations to ensure total tax compliance.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Payment Preparation\nPrepare payment vouchers, checks, and bank transfer requests with all mandatory supporting invoices and receipts.\nVerify supplier tax clearance, TIN (Tax Identification Number), and invoice validity prior to issuing payment.\nApply appropriate Withholding Tax (WHT) deductions on eligible vendor payments and issue official WHT receipts.\nAttached all necessary documents (agreement, pro forma invoice, price comparison sheet etc.)\n2. Peachtree (Sage) Posting & Ledger Reconciliation\nRecord daily sales, payment transactions, and journal entries in Peachtree Accounting.\nEnsure output VAT and input VAT amounts are accurately mapped to designated GL accounts during posting.\nReconcile general ledger accounts, bank balances, and A/P & A/R ledgers monthly.\n3. Invoicing & Receivables Management\nIssue official tax invoices, receipts to clients.\nMonitor accounts receivable aging reports and coordinate client follow-ups for outstanding payments.\nVerify that output VAT is correctly charged on taxable customer sales.\n4. Tax Filing & Compliance\nPrepare monthly Value Added Tax (VAT) returns by compiling input and output VAT summaries.\nPrepare monthly Withholding Tax (WHT) summaries from payment records and file returns with the tax authority before statutory deadlines.\nOrganize and archive all physical tax invoices, payment receipts, and tax declaration receipts for future tax audit defense.\n\nRequirements\nKey Qualifications & Requirements\nEducation: Bachelor degree in Accounting and Finance from recognized institution.\nExperience: minimum 2–4 years of experience in hands-on accounting, invoice issuing, and tax filing.\nSoftware Skills:\nStrong practical knowledge of Peachtree (Sage Accounting) software.\nFamiliarity with electronic tax portal filing systems\nGood command of Microsoft Excel and Word.\n\nTax Knowledge: Working understanding of local tax regulations and submission deadlines.\nHow to apply\nSend your CV and application letter with PDF format to  with the subject line \"Accountant – [Your Name]\", or submit your application directly to Ethiojobs site.
