This position requires working with engineering and other technical subject matter experts in all aspects of electrical substation and protections & controls design services. The successful candidate will perform CAD work of red-lined engineering markups for various substations and/or protection and control engineering projects as well as project support working under engineering supervision. Thrive in GAI’s corporate culture that empowers employee advancement with support for career and professional development and engages with staff to build mutual trust and respect and consideration for diverse perspectives, people, experiences, and ideas. \nJob Duties:\nOpening, revising, plotting, and saving of drawing CAD files. \nAssist in compiling, collating, assembling, and verifying completeness of drawing and project document packages. \nKnowledge of plot profiles and user profiles in CAD package. \nAssist CAD technicians and CAD operators in the development of their skills as required. \nAbility to learn multiple software platforms including, but not limited to, AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical. \nAttend project-specific meetings as required. \nMust be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and be able to work effectively under the pressure of deadlines and unexpected developments. \nAbility to work extended hours or after hours when required. \nLearning and helping to find ways to improve GAI Engineering CAD Standards. \nEffective communication with the project team\nGeneral Characteristics\nFollows Project and Task Manager to assemble drawings\nMinimum Years of Experience\n0 Years of Experience\nEducation\nAssociate Degree from an accredited Technical School\nTechnical Responsibilities\nBasic 2-D line work and text edits. Plot and create PDF drawings. Perform red-line edits. Follows basic QA/QC procedures. Assist with general office function such as printing and folding drawings\nProject and Task Management\nResponsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and scope\nManagement Responsibility\nNo Management responsibilities \nClose supervision on work assignments\nCommunication Skills\nPossess basic oral and written communication skills. interacts effectively with other staff.
