The successful candidate will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment. The candidate must be a team player who excels in collaborative environments and has the ability to independently lead traffic tasks with complex features by work performed directly or through supervision of others. Shall be familiar with PennDOT, PA Turnpike, and MUTCD design requirements. Allegheny County and City of Pittsburgh experience a plus.\nResponsibilities include: \nLeading the production and checking of technical traffic reports, design plans, design calculations, specifications, and cost opinions.\nPrimary tasks will include traffic modeling and analysis (Highway Capacity Software, Synchro/SimTraffic, etc.), traffic signal design, signing and pavement marking design; and traffic control (Maintenance and Protection of Traffic) design.\nQualifications \nBachelors or better in Engineering.\nExperience 15+ years.\nPTOE desired.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).\nPossesses exceptional oral and written communication skills.\nMicroStation computer-aided design skills required, OpenRoads Designer experience a plus.\nGeneral Characteristics\nUses creativity, foresight, and mature judgment to anticipate and solve new problems.\nSets priorities and reconciles directions from competing interests.\nLeads projects with complex features with work performed directly, or by others.\nIntegrates engineering economics and risk analysis into the solutions of complex engineering problems.\nIntegrates solutions to complex problems across specialty areas.\nDemonstrates leadership\nMinimum Years of Experience\n16+ Years of Experience\nEducation\nB.S. or M.S. Engineering, Master's Degree or Equivalent Experience Preferred\nCertification/Licensure\nProfessional Engineer (P.E.) License, reciprocity in multiple states.\nDriver’s License\nTechnical Responsibilities\nFrequently develops standards and guidelines.\nLeads a project in the practice in their area of specialization.\nFrequently develops appropriate design alternatives for complex engineering projects that consider realistic requirements, constraints, community input, permitting, and other regulatory constraints.\nIntegrates advanced concepts to solve complex problems.\nProject and Task Management\nOversees large or multidiscipline project teams.\nRecommends personnel and funds required to carry out projects.\nOversees technical, legal, and financial issues of an entire project.\nIntegrates these components into a complete project management plan for a complex engineering project.\nDetermines project objectives and requirements. \nManagement Responsibility\nReceives administrative supervision with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.\nImplements staff development plans within their organizational segment, including technical, management, and leadership skills.\nCommunication Skills\nPossesses exceptional oral and written communication skills, including negotiation of critical issues and effective persuasive communication.\nDemonstrates financial acumen and familiarity with legal issues related to engineering practice.\nInitiates and maintains extensive contacts with key engineers and officials, or other organizations and companies. \nWhy GAI?\nGAI offers skilled professionals like you an exceptional place to work, grow, lead, and achieve.
