Additional schedules will be considered.\nIntern Duties: \nAssist engineers and project managers with day-to-day project tasks as required for successful project delivery. Tasks may include:\nPreparation of Specification Packages.\nPreparation of Structural Drawings using AutoCAD.\nPreparation of structural design and analysis calculations and models.\nPreparation of Structural design and analysis written reports.\nCoordination and development of client proposals and estimates.\nApply engineering principles to assist in the design of Power & Industry Projects.\nMust demonstrate attention to detail\nDemonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills\nPerform complex tasks typically following established processes.\nDirection Received: Works under lead engineers and project managers to complete day-to-day tasks.\nPossible travel to local project sites (5%).\nAs a GAI Student Engineering Intern, this position is responsible for assisting a team of engineers and project managers with structural designs. This individual should be technically focused and a strong leader with developed technical, communication, and computer skills.\nExperience:\nThis is an entry-level position with no experience required.\nThe successful candidate should be enrolled in a structural or civil engineering program at a Junior or Senior level.\nEducation and Training:\nEnrolled in a program to receive a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, preferably structural engineer or civil engineering, is required.\nMust have good skills in Microsoft Word and Excel\nExperience with drafting programs, particularly AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.\nWillingness to learn new programs and skills in Structural Engineering.\nCommunication Skills:\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical reports and procedures, and governmental regulations.\nAbility to write reports and other business correspondence.\nAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from other staff members.\nMathematical Skills:\nRequired mathematical skills are commensurate with the technical or engineering discipline practiced (e.g., engineering calculations, design, etc.)\nComputer Skills:\nDemonstrate in-depth understanding of basic computer systems and software packages.
