It would be beneficial for the successful candidate to have familiarity with substation design and relevant engineering internship or co-op work experience.\nResponsibilities:\nPerform detailed design of low to extra-high-voltage substations and switchyards\nDevelop and/or revise existing drawings for one line, physical arrangement, electrical schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, grounding, conduit and wire schedules, bill of materials, site development, battery sizing, and equipment layout, including coordinating with CAD operators to develop organized, quality CAD drawings\nIntegrate physical layout and design of substations to interface with protection and control drawings or vice versa\nDevelop control and relay panel layouts including assembling the specifications\nCreate project criteria\nDevelop design specifications including the overall bill of materials\nDesign and size auxiliary systems including AC/DC load centers as well as batteries and chargers\nDesign and size conduit, cable, and backup generators\nTravel to client and vendor offices for design reviews\nTravel to site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs\nAssist with the technical development of the scope of services and cost estimates for substation and P&C projects\nRequired Skills and Experience:\nBachelor's (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program with a strong academic background and coursework in electrical power concepts/AC power systems analysis\nStrong communication skills, including written and oral communication skills, in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel\nDetail-oriented and able to demonstrate professionalism at all times, with a “Client First” approach to all interactions\nAbility to work on multiple assignments simultaneously and possess strong time management skills.\nProficient with MS Office applications\nDesired Skills and Experience:\nFamiliarity with substation design\nRelevant engineering internship or co-op work experience\nGeneral Characteristics\nPossesses foundational engineering concepts through undergraduate-level education. Acquires basic knowledge and develops basic skills through mentored experience. Applies learned knowledge and skills to perform assigned tasks.
