You'll lead a ground-floor team - an AIT Lead who runs day-to-day floor execution through the AIT Technicians, an Inventory Manager, and the existing Ops & Maintenance staff - and own AIT facility operations, manufacturing execution, budget, and inventory outcomes for the AIT floor. You will start by operationalizing build-to-checkout forGalaxEye'sfirst satellite program, then build the repeatable processes needed to scale toward constellation-rate production - the facility is designed for up to 20 satellites/year and 5 per quarter, and this role is central to getting there.\nRequirements\nKey Responsibilities\n1. AIT Process & Operations\nSet up and continuously improve SOPs across all AIT areas - NOVA Lab, ESS Lab, Structures Lab, and both clean rooms - covering the full build → qualify → integrate → checkout workflow.\nOwn facility operational readiness: clean room discipline (ISO 7/ISO 8 protocols, change room, material airlock, dedusting), ESD control, and calibration/uptime of test equipment (vibration shaker, TVAC chamber, data acquisition systems).\nDefine andmaintainthe AIT schedule for each satellite/payload, sequencing EM build, environmental qualification, flight-model integration, and checkout, together with the AIT Lead.\nOwn test readiness reviews and non-conformance management at the programme level; own documentation and traceability (test logs, configuration records, End Item Data Packages).\n2. Manufacturing Operations\nOwn end-to-end manufacturing execution forGalaxEye'ssatellite programme - starting with single-satellite build cadence and building toward repeatable, constellation-rate production.\nBuild production planning, workforce allocation, and capacity plans that scale the AIT floor from unit-build to series production.\nPartner with Design/Engineering on design-for-manufacture and design-for-test feedback as new satellites or payload variants move into build.\nImplement and own quality and safety systemsappropriate toa high-reliability manufacturing environment (e.g., AS9100/ISO 9001-aligned processes, lab safety protocols).\n3. Budget Planning & Cost Management\nBuild and own the AIT floor's operating budget - equipment procurement, calibration and AMC/maintenance contracts, consumables and materials, tooling and fixtures, training and certification, and facility upkeep.\nPrepare budget forecasts and cost projections for each activity area (facility & labs, manufacturing execution, inventory, quality/compliance, team) aligned to the production plan, from single-satellite build through constellation-rate scale-up.\nTrackactualspend against budget across the AIT floor;identifyvariances early and flag cost risks to leadership.\nBuild the cost case and phasing for capacity investments - new equipment, tooling, facility upgrades - as build volume increases.\nOwn budget inputs and projections for inventory, including procurement spend and carrying costs, in coordination with the Inventory Manager.\n4. Inventory & Materials Management\nOwn inventory outcomes for the AIT floor across both streams - build/flight parts and static test equipment - delivered day-to-day through the Inventory Manager.\nEnsure the Inventory Manager's rollout of ERP-based tracking and lot/serial traceability for flight parts lands on schedule and holds up under audit.\nSet inventory policy direction - stock norms, replenishment rules - as build cadence scales toward multiple satellites; coordinate with SCM/procurement on incoming material planning at the programme level.\n5. Team Leadership\nLead and develop the AIT Lead, Inventory Manager, and Ops & Maintenance staff; set the standards the AIT Lead applies to the technician team day-to-day.\nAct as the single escalation and coordination point across the ground floor - parts, facility readiness, access - since the AIT Lead does not coordinate Ops & Maintenance staff directly.\nSet performance standards and run training/certification programmes (cleanroom discipline, ESD handling, lab safety) across the ground floor.\n6. Scale-Up & Continuous Improvement\nBuild the process, tooling, and automation roadmap needed to move from single-satellite operations to constellation-cadence manufacturing.\nDrive continuous-improvement initiatives to reduce AIT cycle time per satellite without compromising quality.\nCandidate Profile\nArea\nRequirement\nEducation\nBachelor's orMaster's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electronics, Industrial/Production Engineering, or a related field\nExperience\nRoughly 8-10 years of overall experience, includingsignificant experienceleading manufacturing/production operations through a working lead/supervisor layer (not just individual contributors)\nDomain exposure\nManufacturing/production operations in aerospace, defence, satellite, or high-reliability electronics; hands-on AIT or cleanroom environment exposure strongly preferred\nBudget & financial planning","description_format":"text","description_chars":5270,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":8,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Satellite Manufacturing","Earth Observation"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-25T20:34:04Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":75,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.832,"p_room":0.9,"age_days":10,"expected_fill_days":18,"reasons":["conf:3","velocity","win:mid"],"computed_at":"2026-11-05T05:54:30Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/galaxeye-space-operation-head-satellites-ait","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/galaxeye-space-operation-head-satellites-ait.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-11-05T08:39:22Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":10985,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-11-06T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":59381},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=59381"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fgalaxeye-space-operation-head-satellites-ait"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fgalaxeye-space-operation-head-satellites-ait"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fgalaxeye-space-operation-head-satellites-ait"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/galaxeye-space-operation-head-satellites-ait\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fgalaxeye-space-operation-head-satellites-ait"}],"agent":{"mcp":"https://alion.io/mcp/jobs","mcp_open":"https://alion.io/mcp/open","next":[{"tool":"get_job","arguments":{"id":3249787}},{"tool":"search_jobs","arguments":{"company":"galaxeye.space","detail":"compact"}},{"tool":"match_people","arguments":{"job_id":3249787},"note":"people open to offers who fit this vacancy"}],"note":"The same data through MCP tools: https://alion.io/mcp/open needs no sign-in (compact searches, postings, people); https://alion.io/mcp with an Alion account has everything.
