At GalaxEye, we are working to build the best remote sensing satellites and also,\nwe are researching various aspects of remote sensing.\nThe C&DH (Command\n& Data Handling) team at GalaxEye is responsible for\ndesigning and developing the onboard computing and embedded software\ninfrastructure that powers our satellite constellation. The team works across\nembedded platforms, real-time systems, onboard communications, and flight\nsoftware, encompassing Bare Metal, RTOS, and Embedded Linux-based development\nfor mission-critical spacecraft operations.\nThe team operates in\na highly interdisciplinary environment where embedded software, FPGA systems,\navionics hardware, and mission operations come together to build reliable and\nhigh-performance satellite systems. We foster a culture of strong ownership, where\nengineers are expected to independently drive technical solutions, proactively\nidentify and solve system-level challenges and provide strong engineering\njustifications while collaborating closely across hardware, FPGA, systems, and\noperations teams to deliver robust space-qualified solutions.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign, develop, and maintain embedded software for spacecraft C&DHsystems.\n\nDevelop low-level firmware and board support packages (BSP) formicrocontrollers, SoCs, and FPGA-integrated systems.\n\nImplement real-time software architectures using Bare Metal and RTOSenvironments.\n\nDevelop and optimize Embedded Linux applications, drivers, andmiddleware.\n\nWork on communication interfaces and protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART,CAN, Ethernet, PCIe, SpaceWire, and CCSDS-based interfaces.\n\nImplement low-level drivers for micro controllers and SoCs (ADC, PWM, GPIO, Timers, RTC, Flash, EEPROM, etc.).\nDevelop telemetry, tele-command, fault management, watchdog, boot loader,and health-monitoring software.\n\nPerform debugging, profiling, and performance optimization on targethardware.\n\nSupport hardware bring-up, system integration, environmental testing,and mission operations.\n\nContribute to software architecture, coding standards, CI/CD pipelines,and verification activities.\n\nCollaborate closely with avionics, FPGA, systems, and mission operationsteams.\n\nRequirements\nStrong programming expertise in C/C++ for embedded systems.\nStrong understanding of:\noMCU architecture (ARM Cortex-M/A/R or RISC-V, etc.)\noMemory (stack/heap, static allocation, alignment, DMA coherency/caches\nif relevant)\noBare Metal firmware development\noRTOS concepts (task scheduling, synchronization, IPC, memory management)\noEmbedded Linux internals and driver/application development\nExperience with one or more RTOS like FreeRTOS , Zephyr, ThreadX.\nExperience in Linux-based embedded systems like Device drivers,Kernel/user-space interaction, Build systems (Yocto/Buildroot) , Scripting experience in Python .\n\nStrong debugging skills using JTAG , GDB, Logic analyzers andOscilloscope.\n\nExperience with communication protocols: SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet,PCIe.\n\nUnderstanding software reliability, fault tolerance, and safety-criticalsystem design.\n\nPreferred Qualifications :\nBachelor’s/Master's degree inElectronics, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, VLSI, or related field.\n\n5-8 years of experience inembedded software or flight software development.\n\nExperience in aerospace, satellite, defense, robotics, or autonomoussystems.\n\nKnowledge of spacecraft onboard software architecture and missionoperations.\n\nExperience with FPGA-software co-design and MPSoC platforms.\nFamiliarity with CCSDS, ECSS, or DO-178 development practices.\nExposure to AI accelerators, edge computing, or high-speed data handlingsystems.\n\nWhoWe’reLookingFor:\nStrong systems-level thinking with ownership mindset.\nAble to independently debug hardware -
