You will own the system-level design of the payload data chain, covering high-speed sensor interfaces, onboard processing, storage, and downlink, ensuring the system meets throughput, latency, power, and reliability requirements across all mission phases.\nThe role involves working across the full development lifecycle, from architecture definition and budgeting, through board bring-up and embedded software definition, to integration, qualification testing, and in-orbit operations support. This position requires strong first-principles thinking, comfort working across the hardware and software boundary, and the ability to translate complex system requirements into practical engineering solutions.\nResponsibilities :\nOwn the system-level architecture of the onboard compute and data handling chain, from sensor output through processing and storage to downlink.\nDefine the compute architecture and processing partitioning across GPU, FPGA/SoC, and general-purpose compute modules, balancing workload, power, and thermal constraints.\nSpecify, integrate, and validate high-speed data interfaces including LVDS/SerDes, SpaceWire, Ethernet, PCIe, SPI, RS485, and CAN.\nPerform throughput sizing and bottleneck analysis across the end-to-end data path.\nDefine the storage and flash management strategy, covering capacity, sustained write performance, endurance, and data retention across mission life.\nDefine the software architecture and ConOps for the embedded system, including sensor data integration and onboard processing pipelines.\nDrive board bring-up and software enablement including Linux kernel configuration, GPU interfaces, memory management, PCI/Ethernet subsystems, device tree modification, and Yocto/PetaLinux builds.\nDefine and implement TM/TC handling, task scheduling, health monitoring, FDIR, and in-orbit reprogramming strategies.\nAuthor and maintain requirements, ICDs, and system budgets for power, data, thermal, and mass.\nSupport functional, endurance, and environmental test campaigns; prepare test plans and reports and correlate results against design assumptions.\nPerform root-cause analysis for failures and off-nominal behaviour across the compute and data handling system.\nWork closely with payload, avionics, EPS, thermal, structures, ground segment, and AIT teams to ensure integrated system performance.\nRequirements\nMust-have Qualifications :\nBachelor's or Master'sdegree in Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.\n3-5 years of experience in space, defence electronics, avionics, automotive edge compute, or high-speed imaging and instrumentation systems.\nHands-on exposure to GPU, FPGA/SoC, or equivalent compute modules.\nWorking experience with one or more of: LVDS/SerDes, SpaceWire, Ethernet, PCIe, SPI, RS485, CAN.\nExperience with storage and flash management, throughput sizing, and bottleneck analysis.\nExperience defining software architecture or ConOps for an embedded system, including sensor data integration.\nWorking knowledge of the Linux kernel, covering GPU interfaces, memory management, PCI/Ethernet, device tree modification, Yocto/PetaLinux, and kernel compilation.\nExperience with TM/TC handling, task scheduling, health monitoring, in-orbitor field reprogramming, and FDIR.\nDemonstrated experience authoring requirements, ICDs, and budgets for power, data, thermal, and mass.\nGood-to-have :\nExperience planning and executing functional, endurance, or environmental testing, and producing formal test reports.\nExposure to MILSPEC, DGQA, BIS/QCI, or DAP 2020 standards.\nWorking knowledge of hardware interfaces and the production lifecycle.\nExperience with Earth observation satellites or high-rate instrument data chains.\nExperience working in private
