Structures Intern

Role

Join our Satellite Structures team as a Structural Design Intern. You’ll support the design,

analysis, and integration of lightweight aerospace structures, contributing to the robustness

and manufacturability of GalaxEye’s satellites.

Responsibilities

• Assist in structural design, CAD modeling, and preliminary sizing.
• Support FEA simulations (static, dynamic, vibration) under guidance.
• Contribute to payload enclosure and satellite structure optimization.
• Prepare engineering drawings, documentation, and reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for design compatibility.
• Participate in integration and environmental testing activities.

Requirements

Must-have Qualifications

• Final-year student (4th year) or recent graduate in Mechanical, Aerospace or related domains.
• Strong foundation in mechanics of materials, structural dynamics, and fatigue

analysis.

• Proficiency in CAD tools, specifically SolidWorks.
• Exposure to FEA software (Simcenter Nastran, ANSYS, Abaqus, or equivalent) is a

plus.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Good-to-have

• Prior project or internship experience in structural design/analysis.
• Experience as part of student project teams (SAE, Aero Design, Robotics,

CubeSat, Formula Student).

• Knowledge of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes (machining,

composites, bonding).

• Familiarity with GD&T and drawing standards.
• Interest in aerospace qualification standards and testing methods.
