You’ll diagnose, test and refurbish connected electronic products while helping our customers, partners and internal teams resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.\neShepherd is Gallagher’s virtual fencing platform for cattle. Using solar-powered, GPS-enabled neckbands connected to web and mobile applications, our technology allows farmers to create and manage virtual grazing boundaries without relying solely on physical fencing.\nThis is a varied technical role where you’ll work across electronics, firmware, IoT systems and customer support. You’ll be close to the technology, the teams developing it and the customers using it in real farming environments.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nWorking closely with Customer Success, R&D, Operations and our Specialist Partners, you’ll take ownership of technical issues from initial diagnosis through to resolution.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nAssessing and prioritising returned eShepherd products\n\nDiagnosing electronic equipment to component level\n\nUsing multimeters, oscilloscopes and test equipment to isolate faults\n\nRefurbishing and testing returned products before they are returned to stock\n\nInvestigating warranty issues and recording findings and failure trends\n\nApplying and validating firmware updates on outgoing products\n\nRunning hardware, firmware and software tests\n\nReproducing customer issues and providing clear technical explanations\n\nSupporting Customer Success with technical enquiries\n\nProviding technical guidance and training to Specialist Partners\n\nDocumenting solutions, service notes and troubleshooting procedures\n\nSharing recurring faults and field insights with R&D and Operations\n\nImproving service processes, diagnostic tools and testing workflows\n\nWhat you’ll bring\nYou’re technically curious, practical and calm under pressure. You enjoy working through problems logically and take pride in delivering a reliable solution.\nIdeally, you’ll bring:\nA relevant electronics, electrical or IT qualification, or equivalent experience\n\nExperience diagnosing electronic equipment\n\nStrong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills\n\nConfidence using electronic test equipment\n\nExcellent customer service and communication skills\n\nStrong organisation and attention to detail\n\nThe ability to manage competing priorities\n\nConfidence writing technical or service documentation\n\nA proactive approach and ownership of your work\n\nThe ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams\n\nExperience with connected devices, IoT products, firmware updates, CRM systems or inventory platforms such as SAP would be an advantage.\nDon’t meet every requirement?
