The team designs, builds, and evolves the digital capabilities that enable customers to seamlessly provision, manage, and use their physical and mobile credentials across their workplace and broader ecosystem.\nWe have two opportunities available within this team: one suited to an intermediate developer ready to deepen their technical capability, and one senior role for someone who can bring strong technical ownership, influence engineering direction, and support others to deliver high-quality outcomes.\nAs a Software Engineer in this team, you’ll work on systems that are foundational to identity, access, and trust. Your work will directly impact customer onboarding, day-to-day usability, and overall confidence in our solutions. They’re well suited to developers who enjoy ownership, continuous improvement, and building products that customers rely on every day.\nAs part of #TeamGallagher you will:\nEnjoy developing high-quality commercial software and contributing to the success of a world-class product\n\nEnjoy being part of an agile team that is aspiring to achieve outstanding results\n\nEnjoy a culture and workplace that fosters collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement\n\nEnjoy being challenged and solving problems\n\nEnjoy an environment where growth and learning are encouraged\n\nKey responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain software components and the integration of cloud services\n\nBreak down, refine, and estimate work within an agile product environment\n\nEnsure quality and secure coding through best practices, testing, and peer reviews\n\nOptimise system performance, reliability, and scalability\n\nCollaborate with the squad and wider teams in an agile environment\n\nStay up to date with emerging technologies and development trends to continuously improve team capability\n\nFor the senior role, provide technical guidance, support decision-making, and help mentor others within the team\n\nYou’ll bring\nA relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience\n\nCommercial software development experience, ideally 3+ years for intermediate applicants and stronger depth of experience for senior applicants\n\nProficiency in C#\n\nExperience working with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar\n\nExperience in RESTful API development\n\nExperience with CI/CD using Azure Pipelines or GitHub Workflows\n\nExperience working in agile, product-focused teams\n\nFor the senior role, the ability to influence technical outcomes, guide engineering practices, and support others through coaching or mentoring\n\nExperience with C++ and/or mobile development is desirable\n\nExperience with access control systems, including traditional card-based and emerging digital/mobile credential technologies and encoding would be advantageous\n\nWorking at Gallagher\nYou’ll be part of a global, future-focused organisation where engineering talent is valued and supported.
