At the end of the programme, you will gain a nationally recognised qualification in this field as well as learning the practical skills and hands-on experience in a supportive environment.\nJoin us on our Trainee Development Programme, where you will be given the training and tools to develop your skills through a series of modules over an 18-month period followed by a graduation event.\nWe offer apprenticeships from a level 3 to a degree level apprenticeship fully funded by Galliford Try, tailored to your current education level and course entry requirements.\nThis role is available for a Summer 2027 start, with the possibility of an earlier start date to suit yourself and the business.\nWhat could your day look like?\nAs an Apprentice Estimator, you will:\nSupport the preparation of estimates and tender submissions for fabricated pipework and metalwork projects.\nReview drawings, specifications, schedules and tender documentation to develop an understanding of project requirements.\nAssist with the preparation of material take-offs and labour estimates under the guidance of the Proposals Manager.\nObtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to support the tendering process.\nMaintain accurate estimating records, databases and costing information.\nAssist in identifying project risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions during the tender stage.\nWork collaboratively with operational (site and workshop) and engineering teams when generating labour estimates.\nSupport the preparation of technical and commercial tender submissions in accordance with client requirements.\nAttend internal meetings, site visits and client engagement activities to develop a broader understanding of project delivery and customer requirements.\nDevelop an understanding of fabrication methods, welding processes, installation activities and construction techniques to improve estimating capability.\nAssist with project handovers, ensuring relevant tender information is effectively communicated to delivery teams.\nDevelop knowledge of industry standards, client specifications and contractual requirements relevant to the fabrication business.\nDemonstrate a positive attitude towards learning and development, actively seeking opportunities to expand technical, commercial and industry knowledge.\nPromote and uphold the Company's values, culture, health and safety standards, and commitment to quality in all activities undertaken.\nAs part of the apprenticeship programme you will be expected to work in and around the location advertised, with the possibility for expanding travel to other projects and locations in the future.
