Reporting to the Procurement Lead for Infrastructure, the Senior Procurement Manager plays a strategic role in developing and managing high-performing supply chains that support Morrison Construction’s growth objectives across highways, energy and defence markets.\nThe Senior Procurement Manager will be an integral part of the management team, with the goal to grow a wider Procurement team and will work closely with the Pre-Construction, Commercial, Design and Delivery functions to maximise our short, medium and long-term procurement opportunities and deliver on the key accountabilities identified below.\nWhat You Will Be Doing:\nSupport the delivery of business unit & project specific procurement strategies\nAssist in the procurement of subcontract, strategic material & plant packages across infrastructure projects\nConduct market analysis and pre-qualification checks to develop and maintain bid-lists across the BU\nPrepare, organise and issue tender documentation, and work with teams to develop project specific supplier evaluation criteria\nCoordinate and manage tendering processes\nMaintain accurate procurement records \nEnsure procurement schedules are always kept up to date\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with key supply chain partners\nSupport strategic supplier performance management activities\nAssist with the onboarding, assessment, and approval of new suppliers\nIdentify opportunities to develop our strategic supply chain\nEnsure procurement processes comply with Galliford Try policies, business management system, ethical standards, and delegated authority requirements\nAssist in managing procurement risks and developing mitigation strategies as risks arise\nDevelop effective working relationships with internal stakeholders across procurement, commercial, operations, finance and the wider business\nProvide procurement guidance and support to project delivery teams\nAbout You:\nMotivation to have an impact on GT’s procurement and wider business processes/objectives with a willingness to drive change and continuous improvement\nWillingness to learn and develop\nBe pro-active, organised and professional\nExcellent communication, stakeholder and relationship management skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships across the business and supply chain\nStrong IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel\nFull UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required\nDesirable\nExperience within civil engineering, infrastructure, construction, utilities, rail, highways, water, energy, or related sectors\nFamiliarity with NEC contracts and infrastructure procurement practices\nKnowledge of procurement systems and e-sourcing platforms\nWillingness to work towards or already hold MCIPS certification\nExperience in procurement, supply chain or commercial roles\nExperience supporting tendering and supplier evaluation activities\nCommercial awareness and analytical skills\nWhat We Can Offer in Return:\nWith an impressive order book of over £4.3 billion we are one of the industry’s leading principal contractors, affording you the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most exciting projects offering you stability as well as the chance to stretch your capabilities and realise long held career goals.
