If speculative CVs are sent, no fee will be applicable - please direct all queries to the relevant Resourcing Partner.\nManaging Quantity Surveyor\nGuildford\nAn opportunity has arisen for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join the team at Galliford Try.\nIdeally, you will based in or around the Guildford area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.\nWhat you will be doing:\nParticipate in creating a knowingly safe working environment.\nAct as Project Commercial Lead in the administration of the contract.\nDevelop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders.\nProduce Subcontract documentation including negotiation of terms and conditions, prices, and programme.\nManagement of subcontract works packages including, interim assessments of the amount due and subsequent change management.\nProduce and issue all commercial notices, to both the Client and Subcontractors, as required by the form of contract. \nManage change in a timely manner in accordance with the form of contract, including the production and submission of Compensation Event Quotations.\nProduce, submit, and agree monthly applications, to the Client, in accordance with the form of contract.\nLiaise with operational and engineering staff to ensure site records are kept to the standard required.\nProduce detailed monthly reports and Cost Value Reconciliation’s (CVR) as required by the business unit or project.\nProduce and maintain a detailed ‘Cost Plan’, tracking and forecasting expenditure, including detailed schedules of Subcontractor ‘liabilities’ and use of Oracle based cost analyses.\nWork with the Project Manager to ensure accurate planning of expenditure. \nInterpret and critically evaluate expenditure reports produced by internal cost systems. \nSupport the Project Manager and others to identify, quantify, and mitigate risks to cost and value.\nAttending weekly progress and risk reduction meetings with the client and subcontractors. \nApply the principles of ‘Doing the right thing’ in maximising value and profit.\nResponsible for key decision relating to commercial matters alongside the senior operational team.\nManagement of teams and the development of all commercial staff to ensure they reach their potential and support their wellbeing\nAbout You:\nYou will have experience of working within the Construction industry for a main contractor, specifically on Design and Build; as well as sound knowledge of JCT and NEC Conditions of Contract.\nKnowledge and experience of MOJ frameworks and PPC 2000 is required\nThe ability to work independently as well as within a team is essential.\nYou will be degree qualified and member of the RICS or IOB (or moving towards professional membership).\nWhat We Can Offer in Return:\nWith an impressive order book of over £4.1 billion we are one of the industry’s leading principal contractors, affording you the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most exciting projects offering you stability as well as the chance to stretch your capabilities and realise long held career goals.
