Mechanical Supervisor - AVRS

We currently have two opportunities to join our team at AVRS:

  • Thames & Anglian Water region (travel across both regions required)
  • North East England (travel across multiple sites within the region)

Both roles involve site-based work, travel, and contributing to high-quality projects across their respective regions.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Supervisor to join AVRS, part of the Galliford Try group. Following several long-term framework awards, we are looking for ambitious individuals with a strong industrial background to support long-term projects within the Water Treatment Sector.

Our clients expect the highest standards, and we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional quality. At AVRS, we see our people as key stakeholders and aim to build a mutually rewarding future together.

Projects range from £5k to £10m, where we act as Principal Contractor and Principal Designer, as well as supporting Tier 1 contractor clients. This is a permanent position, offering stability and growth within a thriving team.

What you will be doing:

  • Supervise a team of mechanical fitters to deliver works safely, on time, and to the highest standards.
  • Ensure installations comply with specifications and AVRS mechanical safety rules.
  • Promote and engage with AVRS’s positive safety culture.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety legislation and encourage best practices.
  • Guarantee installations meet contract requirements and quality plans.
  • Coach and mentor Electrical Improvers and Apprentices.
  • Collaborate effectively within a growing team.

About You:

Essential

  • SSSTS or equivalent
  • Ability to manage own workload and project tasks with minimal supervision
  • Relevant trade qualification
  • Strong industrial experience
  • CSCS or CCNSG card
  • Emergency First Aid or First Aider certification
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • EUSR Water Hygiene
  • Experience in the Water Industry
  • PASMA / IPAF / Confined Space certification
  • Fitness-to-work medical
