The Planner will report to the Lead Planner daily with excellent progression opportunity.The Planner will provide a complete construction planning service at pre-qualification, pre-construction and construction stages. you will need to be based in a commutable distance to Uxbridge, London and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.\nWhat you will be doing:\n Provide outline programmes, logistic plans and methodologies at pre-qualification stage and submit/present to clients and client representatives. \nProvide detailed tender construction programmes from first principles together with method statements for inclusion in Bid submissions. \nProvide a contract planning service including development of contract programmes, target programmes, close out programmes and procurement schedules, monitor progress, attend progress meetings, issue progress reports, and reprogramming as required by the planning brief. \nPromote the company at pre-qualification, tender and contract interviews, presentations, and meetings. \nCarry out a continuous programme of research into new and innovative building techniques and advise the Head of Planning/Lead Planner and tender/contract teams of any application showing the possibility of positive benefits. \nUndertake independent project progress reporting, including the analysis of the outcome and providing feedback to project teams and senior management and advise on potential mitigations measures.\nReview Subcontractors programmes. \nCollaborating with all stakeholders both internal and external.\nVisit sites to ascertain conditions and constraints to be considered in preparing tender programmes and method statements. \nAssess requirements and provide comprehensive scaffold, hoist and crane schedules to be used in obtaining competitive and realistic quotations. \nProvide to the contract team information release schedules. \nCompile comparative programmes for use in substantiation of claims or in disputes. \nWorking as part of both tendering and project teams\nSupport and mentor junior members of the team in a supporting role when allocated. \nA working knowledge/experience of construction planning through live job experience or training. \nIdeally experience of tendering and preconstruction.\nAbility to manage a number of project programmes simultaneously.\nGood contractual awareness and commercially astute. \nThe ability to build construction programmes from first principles. \nResource and logistics knowledge and how it affects the programme. \nUse of ASTA Planning software preferable; training is available to transfer skills from other planning software where applicable. \nAware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adheres to company health and safety policy and procedures. \nAble to demonstrate alignment and work in line with the Galliford Try values - Excellence, Passion, Integrity and Collaboration. \nAbout You:\nA working knowledge/experience of construction planning through live job experience or training. \nIdeally experience of tendering and preconstruction.\nAbility to manage a number of project programmes simultaneously.\nGood contractual awareness and commercially astute. \nThe ability to build construction programmes from first principles. \nResource and logistics knowledge and how it affects the programme. \nUse of ASTA Planning software preferable; training is available to transfer skills from other planning software where applicable. \nAware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adheres to company health and safety policy and procedures. \nAble to demonstrate alignment and work in line with the Galliford Try values - Excellence, Passion, Integrity and Collaboration. \nWhat We Can Offer in Return:\nWith an impressive order book of over £4.3 billion we are one of the industry’s leading principal contractors, affording you the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most exciting projects offering you stability as well as the chance to stretch your capabilities and realise long held career goals.
