If speculative CVs are sent, no fee will be applicable - please direct all queries to the relevant Resourcing Partner.\nPlanner\nWest Midlands\nAn opportunity has arisen for a Planner to join the team at Galliford Try.\nThe Planner will provide a complete construction planning service at pre-qualification, pre-construction and construction stages, in line with Galliford Try’s standards, and our number one Business Strategy “Delivering Excellence”.\nThe candidate will be a reliable Planner with good construction knowledge and strong working knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.\nThis is a full time, permanent role that is primarily based at our Solihull office, visiting sites across the West Midlands as required. The Planner will work on multiple tender, pre-construction and live projects.\nWhat you will be doing:\nEnsure that the programme content and functionality is compliant with Galliford Try’s standards\n\nHave a strong working knowledge of the NEC contract, NEC-complaint programmes, and the administration of the contract\n\nProvide full life-cycle planning support to multiple projects; tenders, pre-construction and live projects\n\nReview documents, specifications and scopes, identifying contract requires and major constraints\n\nProvide detailed tender programmes, method statements and logistics proposals for inclusion in tender submissions\n\nProvide outline plans and methodologies at tender stage\n\nVisit sites to ascertain conditions and constraints to be taken into account when preparing tender programmes and method statements\n\nPromote the company at tender and contract interviews, presentations and meetings\n\nProduce detailed fully integrated design, procurement and construction stage Contract Programmes, that are fully resourced and value-loaded\n\nIdentify alternative methodologies/sequences that improve project completion date(s)\n\nLiaise with internal and external key stakeholders and third parties to establish optimum, compliant programmes\n\nAscertain and report progress on pre-construction and live projects, foreseeing potential delays and advising of mitigation measures\n\nDevelop Construction, Completion and Mitigation Programmes at relevant stages of the projects, whilst maintaining Contract integrity as required\n\nCarry out a continuous programme of research into new and innovative building techniques and advise the Head of Planning, Technical Director and tender/contract teams of any application showing the possibility of positive benefits\n\nBe able to work dynamically in assisting the Business to achieve its goals and targets\n\nSupport the Business in claims and/or disputes\n\nSupport and develop Junior team members where required\n\nAbout You:\nStrong working knowledge of the NEC and JCT Contracts\n\n3D/4D visualisation experience\n\nClaims experience\n\nMOJ experience preferable\n\n2-stage tendering experience preferable\n\nProficiency in Asta Power Project, Microsoft Project, and MS Office\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\n\nWhat We Can Offer in Return:\nWith an impressive order book of over £4.1 billion we are one of the industry’s leading principal contractors, affording you the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most exciting projects offering you stability as well as the chance to stretch your capabilities and realise long held career goals.
