If speculative CVs are sent, no fee will be applicable - please direct all queries to the relevant Resourcing Partner.\nRole: Project Engineer - Control Systems & Electrical Design\nLocation: Plymouth / South West\nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to join our Lintott Control Systems team.\nThis is a varied and hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys contributing throughout the full project lifecycle. Working within our control panel and systems integration business, you will support the successful delivery of projects from initial concept and tender stage through design, manufacture, testing, commissioning and final handover.\nYou'll work closely with customers, Project Managers, Software Engineers, manufacturing teams, suppliers and site teams to develop practical, compliant and cost-effective solutions.\nWe're looking for someone with experience in electrical engineering and control systems who can combine technical expertise with project delivery and tendering support. If you have experience in some, but not all, of the areas listed below, we'd still encourage you to apply.\nWhat you'll be doing:\nManaging multiple projects from order through to completion, ensuring delivery is safe, efficient and aligned with programme and budget requirements.\nReviewing client specifications, technical requirements and scope documents to develop appropriate engineering solutions.\nProducing electrical designs for MCCs, control panels, LV distribution systems and industrial control systems, including schematics, general arrangement drawings, cable schedules and bills of materials.\nSelecting and specifying electrical and automation equipment, including switchgear, motor control equipment, drives, PLC hardware and instrumentation.\nSupporting client design reviews, technical meetings, project progress meetings and site surveys.\nWorking closely with manufacturing teams during panel build activities and resolving technical queries.\nSupporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning activities.\nCoordinating suppliers, subcontractors, installation teams and internal stakeholders throughout project delivery.\nProcuring materials, equipment and specialist services as required.\nMaintaining project documentation, technical submissions, test records and handover information.\nIdentifying opportunities to improve value while maintaining safety, quality and compliance.\nBuilding and maintaining positive customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle.\nTendering & Pre-Contract Support\nYou will also support the business during tendering activities and help develop future opportunities by:\nReviewing enquiries, specifications, drawings and client requirements.\nDeveloping technical solutions and defining proposed scopes of work.\nPreparing preliminary designs, equipment selections and cost estimates.\nProducing bills of materials and obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations.\nIdentifying technical and commercial risks, assumptions and exclusions.\nSupporting tender reviews and smooth handover into project delivery.\nCollaborating with colleagues to develop competitive and cost-effective solutions.\nApplying lessons learned from completed projects to improve future estimates and designs. \nAbout you:\nYou will have one of the following:\nAn HNC/ONC in Electrical, Systems or Software Engineering, together with relevant industry experience.\nA degree in Electrical, Systems or a related Engineering discipline, together with post-graduate industry experience.\nWe're particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in some of the following areas:\nElectrical engineering within industrial, manufacturing, utilities or systems integration environments.\nMCC, control panel and LV electrical system design.\nMotor control systems, including starters and variable speed drives.\nProduction of electrical schematics, general arrangement drawings and bills of materials.\nAutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software.\nElectrical equipment specification and component selection.\nProject engineering and the delivery of multiple concurrent projects.\nWorking collaboratively with customers, suppliers and subcontractors.\nFactory Acceptance Testing, commissioning or installation support.\nCost estimating, tendering or quotation preparation.\nCommercial awareness and project cost management.\nCollaboration with PLC, HMI and SCADA engineers.\nMicrosoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.\nDesirable:\nCAD software qualifications or additional training.\nProfessional registration, or working towards registration, with a recognised engineering institution.\nExperience within the water or wastewater sector.\nIndustrial automation experience.\nKnowledge of industrial communication networks such as Profibus, Profinet and Ethernet.\nExperience leading project teams and managing external stakeholders.\nKnowledge of relevant legislation, standards and safety requirements, including CDM, PUWER, DSEAR and CE/UKCA marking.\nUnderstanding of machine safety and functional safety principles.\nCommercial awareness and contract management experience.\nWhat We Can Offer in Return:\nWith an impressive order book of over £4.3 billion we are one of the industry’s leading principal contractors, affording you the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most exciting projects offering you stability as well as the chance to stretch your capabilities and realise long held career goals.
