PROJECT MANAGER - ENVIRONMENT

LOCATION: WEST YORKSHIRE - ROTHERHAM

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join the team at Galliford Try within our Infrastructure Waste Water Environment Business in Yorkshire.

Ideally, you will based in or around the West Yorkshire area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.

The vacancy arises from the initiation of the Storm Overflow Reduction Programme, introducing a substantial workload consisting of multiple projects for investigation and construction.

What you will be doing:

As Project Manager, you will assume comprehensive responsibility for project delivery across various areas, from managing financial aspects to ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

This entails overseeing multiple concurrent projects, managing employees at different levels, fostering their professional development and retention. You will also interact with senior client representatives and a have keen understanding of contractual conditions, particularly NEC 4.

You will manage the project teams, ensuring clear objectives, motivation, and alignment with project goals. Collaborating closely with other departments, such as tendering and design, to allocate resources effectively and meet client requirements.

Procurement of essential resources, coordination with subcontractors, and attendance at internal and external meetings are pivotal aspects. Ensuring timely documentation, including "As built" drawings and manuals, in accordance with client specifications, to ensure commitment to thorough project closeout and client satisfaction. Overall, the role requires a strategic yet hands-on approach to project management, balancing operational excellence with client relationship management.

About You:

  • An industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng. or NVQ equivalent
  • Relevant and up to date H&S qualifications
  • IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety & Health) or CITB (Construction Industry Training Body) 5 Day Site Safety Management (SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)),
  • CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card
  • Demonstrable experience of working within the waste and/or water industries
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages

You will also be able to demonstrate the following key attributes.
