If speculative CVs are sent, no fee will be applicable - please direct all queries to the relevant Resourcing Partner.\nQuantity Surveyor\nLocation - Exeter / Indian Queens\nWhat you will be doing:\nAn opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Division. Supporting the delivery of capital maintenance works applicable to water sector frameworks, you will play a key role in managing the commercial and financial aspects of these projects. This role is suited to a commercially astute professional with specialist knowledge or strong interest in the water sector.\nManage all commercial aspects of project delivery from tender through to final account, including producing commercial notices as required by the contract.\nManage subcontract works packages including, interim assessments of the amount due and subsequent change management.\nSupport on commercial risk management, identifying and mitigating potential risks.\nProduce, and be able to present, detailed monthly reports and Cost Valuation Reconciliations (CVR) as required by the operating unit or project.\nProduce and maintain a detailed ‘Cost Plan’, tracking and forecasting expenditure, including detailed schedules of subcontractor ‘liabilities’ and use of Oracle based cost analyses.\nManage and develop junior Quantity Surveyors within the operating unit.\nAbout you:\nDesirable to have a professional qualification such as MCIOB or MRICS, ideally Incorporated member, or working towards full membership.\nRelevant degree and/or experience of working in a relevant commercial environment.\nCSCS appropriate.\nGood appreciation of standard forms of contract and experience using Contractual and Cost Management Systems (CEMAR, Oracle)\nWhat We Can Offer in Return:\nWith an impressive order book of over £4.3 billion we are one of the industry’s leading principal contractors, affording you the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most exciting projects offering you stability as well as the chance to stretch your capabilities and realise long held career goals.
