If speculative CVs are sent, no fee will be applicable - please direct all queries to the relevant Resourcing Partner.\nTitle: Quantity Surveyor\nLocation: Warrington\nAn opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team at Galliford Try within our Asset Intelligence business unit\nThe role will ensure adherence with all Galliford Try and Asset Intelligence process', principals and guidelines in all aspects.\nWhat You Will Be Doing\nLead the commercial management of a portfolio of Asset Intelligence projects, ensuring compliance with Galliford Try processes, governance, and commercial best practice.\nSupport the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Managing Quantity Surveyor in delivering commercial strategy and business objectives.\nBuild strong working relationships across commercial, operational, delivery, and design teams to drive collaboration and project success.\nPrepare, manage, and monitor cash flow forecasts, identifying and explaining any variances against budgets and projections.\nMaximise cash collection, minimise WIP and debt exposure, and ensure timely submission of client applications and spend profiles.\nOversee subcontractor application assessments and payment processes, ensuring compliance with contractual and statutory requirements.\nProduce accurate commercial reporting, including CVRs, forecasts, and month-end documentation, providing clear analysis of performance movements.\nSupport the delivery of project commercial targets by actively managing costs, risk, profitability, and contractual entitlement.\nAssist with negotiating and administering client and subcontract agreements, ensuring appropriate risk allocation and contractual compliance.\nManage contractual notices, variations, early warnings, compensation events, and other commercial change controls within required timescales.\nWork closely with project teams to prepare and agree quotations for additional cost and time, securing the business's contractual entitlement.\nAttend and contribute to client and supply chain meetings, acting as a key commercial representative when required.\nCoach and mentor junior commercial team members, supporting their development and promoting commercial awareness across the business.\nMaintain accurate commercial records, registers, reports, and communications to support effective project governance and decision-making.\nAbout You\nExperience in a Quantity Surveyor role, ideally within infrastructure, utilities, engineering, or construction environments.\nStrong commercial and financial management skills, with experience in forecasting, cost control, cash flow management, and reporting.\nSound understanding of contract administration, change management, and risk management principles.\nConfident communicator with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders.\nAbility to analyse commercial data and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations and reporting.\nStrong negotiation and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to securing commercial outcomes.\nWell organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.\nCommitted to maintaining high standards of governance, compliance, and commercial best practice.\nExperience coaching, supporting, or mentoring colleagues and contributing to team development.\nWorking towards or holding a relevant professional qualification (e.g. RICS or equivalent) would be advantageous.\nWhat We Can Offer in Return:\nWith an impressive order book of over £4.3 billion we are one of the industry’s leading principal contractors, affording you the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most exciting projects offering you stability as well as the chance to stretch your capabilities and realise long held career goals.
