If speculative CVs are sent, no fee will be applicable - please direct all queries to the relevant Resourcing Partner.\nSenior Pre-Construction Project Engineer (Delivery)\nHampton with some travel to London sites\nAs a Senior Project Engineer, you’ll bring together insights from our Operational and Matrix teams during the Pre-Contract phase, shaping a clear and reliable Target Cost, a thorough Risk Register, and an early Delivery Plan that sets each project up for success.\nYou’ll also help strengthen the commercial position of each project all the way through detailed design and major subcontract placement. And before any work starts on site, you’ll take the lead in developing a well-thought-out Delivery Plan that ensures every stage of delivery is fully considered and ready to go.\nWhat you will be doing:\nLead and support the delivery team by managing MEICA activities across a portfolio of pre-construction projects.\nManage and mentor Pre-Construction Engineers and Assistants.\nReview design partner deliverables, ensuring full compliance with contractual, design and regulatory standards.\nCoordinate activities to achieve client gate-stage approvals and internal governance requirements.\nContribute to MEICA forums by sharing knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices.\nEnsure a smooth handover to the Operational Team once pre-construction activities are complete.\nPlan, coordinate, and oversee surveys, testing and inspections needed to support design development.\nAct as Mechanical or Electrical Appointed Person when required.\nLead engagement with the supply chain issuing high-quality enquiries and rigorously assessing quotations.\nParticipate in client framework supplier selections and challenge constraints where necessary.\nProduce and review project delivery plans, procurement schedules, buildability considerations and temporary work’s needs.\nProvide a strong technical interface with the Client across Civil and MEICA disciplines.\nSupport programme development and collaborative planning with technical input.\nOptimise Civil and MEICA technical solutions while maintaining full compliance.\nAbout You:\nHND/HNC in a MEICA Engineering discipline (BEng/MEng desirable).\nA strong background in construction/engineering within Water/Wastewater or related sectors.\nValid SMSTS and CSCS card.\nProven leadership and people management skills.\nStrong written and verbal communication abilities.\nClient-focused with a collaborative, partnership-based approach.\nTechnically competent with solid commercial and contractual awareness.\nSkilled in subcontractor and supply chain management, including negotiation.\nHighly organised, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities.\nConfident delivering presentations.\nProficient IT and computer skills.\nA positive, proactive “can-do” attitude.\nProfessional qualification (desirable).\nWhat We Can Offer in Return:\nWith an impressive order book of over £4.3 billion we are one of the industry’s leading principal contractors, affording you the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most exciting projects offering you stability as well as the chance to stretch your capabilities and realise long held career goals.
