  • Working closely with operational and engineering colleagues to ensure accurate site records.
  • Producing detailed monthly reports and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
  • Identifying and managing risks and opportunities to support margin improvement.
  • Managing main contract change control using the client’s CEMAR system.
  • Contributing to business targets, including cash, profit and return on capital.
  • Developing strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to support repeat business.
  • Creating and maintaining cost plans, forecasts and subcontractor liability schedules using Oracle-based systems.
  • Evaluating expenditure reports and addressing variances.
  • Attending progress and risk reduction meetings with clients and subcontractors.
  • Supporting senior leaders in the implementation of initiatives and change activities.
  • Providing commercial advice to estimating and bid teams.
  • Supporting and developing commercial team members to help them reach their potential.

About you:

  • Professional qualification such as MCIOB or MRICS (incorporated or working towards full membership desirable).
  • Experience working within a civil engineering environment (e.g., Highways, Rail, Water, Aviation).
  • Experience delivering large single projects or multiple smaller schemes.
  • CSCS card (as appropriate).
  • Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract.
  • Proficient IT skills, including Excel, Word and commercial systems (CEMAR, Asite, Orbit).
