Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will oversee the safe and efficient delivery of Mechanical, Electrical and Civil installation projects within the water industry, ensuring works are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance\nWhat you will be doing:\nManage and coordinate all on-site construction activities across M&E and Civil installation projects.\nEnsure works are delivered safely, on time, and in line with contract specifications and programme requirements.\nLead site operations in compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.\nWork closely with Project Managers, Planners, Clients and Subcontractors to monitor project progress.\nUtilise digital site management platforms to track and report on programme performance.\nEnsure adherence to contractual milestones and project delivery schedules.\nPrepare and maintain key site documentation, including Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMS).\nOversee installation programmes, testing, inspection and commissioning records.\nConduct site inductions for all personnel and visitors attending site.\nDeliver regular toolbox talks and promote a positive safety culture.\nManage site resources, subcontractors and supply chain partners to achieve project objectives.\nIdentify and mitigate site risks, escalating issues where required.\nMaintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and environmental compliance.\nBuild effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.\nChampion Galliford Try's Health, Safety and Environment culture, ensuring the wellbeing of everyone on site.\nAbout you:\nONC, City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.\nValid SMSTS, IOSH or CITB Site Safety Management qualification.\nAppropriate CSCS card and First Aid certification.\nExperience managing construction or installation activities within a regulated environment, ideally the water sector.\nStrong understanding of health, safety and environmental best practices.\nCommercially aware, with the ability to balance project objectives and site requirements.\nProficient in Microsoft Office and digital project management tools.\nExcellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.\nOrganised, professional and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes.\nSelf-motivated, adaptable and able to build strong relationships while driving results.\nWhat We Can Offer in Return:\nWith an impressive order book of over £4.3 billion we are one of the industry’s leading principal contractors, affording you the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most exciting projects offering you stability as well as the chance to stretch your capabilities and realise long held career goals.
