This hands-on technical role is responsible for performing, evaluating, documenting, and reporting ballistic and non-ballistic testing of military helmet products and production materials.\nThe ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and committed to quality. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a laboratory/manufacturing environment and wants to develop expertise in ballistic testing, inspection, measurement, and quality processes.\nWhat You'll Do\nPerform ballistic testing of military products and received goods to support production requirements.\nConduct non-ballistic testing and incoming/in-process inspections.\nPrepare helmets and components for ballistic and non-ballistic testing, including measuring, marking, and assembly.\nEvaluate test results against applicable standards and specifications.\nDocument and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.\nInspect armor products throughout the production process.\nRelease approved components following established inspection procedures.\nMaintain a clean, safe, organized testing environment.\nVerify laboratory equipment calibration and assist with equipment maintenance.\nComplete Non-Conforming Reports when required.\nUse Microsoft Office applications to document, analyze, and report testing results.\nDevelop proficiency with FaroArm and PolyWorksfor product measurement and analysis.\nWork closely with Ballistics Supervisors, Quality Engineers, Quality Team Leads, and other shifts to communicate findings and maintain efficient workflow.\nIdentify quality issues and recommend improvements to processes and components.\nFollow all applicable quality, safety, and testing procedures.\nWhat We're Looking For\nTechnical college/CEGEP degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nPrevious experience with ballistic testing, ammunition loading, or weapons and ammunition storage is preferred.\nManufacturing and/or laboratory experience is a plus.\nStrong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.\nMechanical aptitude and basic electrical hardware knowledge.\nAbility to use standard measuring and inspection equipment.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong problem-solving and time-management abilities.\nAbility to learn new testing methods, equipment, and procedures quickly.\nUnderstanding of ISO processes, certification, and compliance.\nAbility to adapt to changing priorities and production schedules.\nAbility to work effectively as part of a team.\nPhysical & Work Environment Requirements\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to perform repetitive tasks.\nAbility to work in a laboratory/manufacturing environment.\nHearing, respiratory, and eye protection are required.\nParticipation in quarterly lead testing as part of the company's lead safety program.\nAnnual respiratory protection fit testing is required.\nWhy This Role Matters\nAs a Ballistics Technician I, you'll play an important role in ensuring Galvion products meet rigorous quality and performance requirements.
