Whether you're looking to develop your skills, take on new challenges, or make a meaningful impact, Gamma is the place to do it.\n What is the role responsible for?\nWe’re looking for a Cyber Security Analyst – Tier 1 to join our Security Operations Centre (SOC) team.\nYou’ll monitor and respond to cybersecurity incidents, analyze threats, and contribute to strengthening the security posture of our customers. \n\nIf you have a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking, and threat detection, and you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, this role is an excellent opportunity to grow your career in cyber security. \nWhat will you be doing day-to-day?\nUse SIEM tools to monitor and analyse security alerts, conduct initial triage, and investigate security breaches.\nHandle and escalate security incidents effectively, ensuring swift resolution and minimal impact. \nAddress security-related queries, escalate critical issues, and provide expert guidance to customers.\nMaintain clear records of incidents, actions taken, and resolutions, following company protocols. \nAssist in tuning security measures, developing use cases, and improving detection capabilities. \nWork closely with internal teams and external customers to enhance security protocols and response strategies.\nStay up to date with emerging cyber threats, new attack techniques, and industry best practices.\nWork with key stakeholders to ensure security requirements are understood and properly implemented.\nWhat you’ll bring\nExperience in cybersecurity principles, attack detection, incident response, and security frameworks. \nUnderstanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, and threat intelligence models. \nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. \nDemonstrable experience in conveying complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders. \nKnowledge of cloud security principles and hybrid cloud environments. \nA proactive approach to staying updated on industry trends, new threats, and best practices. \nPrevious experience in a SOC or cybersecurity support role. \nRelevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or similar. \nFamiliarity with regulatory compliance standards like GDPR, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS. \nHands-on experience with SIEM technologies such as QRadar, Azure Sentinel, or Elastic SIEM. \nUnderstanding of endpoint security, IAM, and data protection best practices.\nKnowledge of both Microsoft Windows and Linux-based operating systems. \nDue to the sensitivity of the role, you will also need to go through and pass security clearance.\nWhat do we offer you?\n25 days annual leave + birthday\nSubsidised private medical insurance\n5.1% matched pension contributions\nEnhanced parental leave\nLife assurance and Income protection\nShare save and incentive plans\nElectric Vehicle and Cycle scheme\nEmployee discounts\nVolunteer day\nA few things to note:\nShift Pattern: 24/7/365 rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays (5 days on, 3 days off; 5 days on, 3 days off; 5 days on, 4 days off)\nLocation: Must be within a reasonable commuting distance to our Glasgow office as we will expect you to work hybrid (3-days)\nTravel: Occasional travel for industry events and other company offices\nWe require all candidates to be eligible to work in the UK and pass a basic DBS check.\nIf you don’t meet every requirement but feel you could thrive in this role, we would still encourage you to apply.\nGamma is an equal-opportunity employer committed to building diverse, inclusive teams where everyone feels valued and can be their authentic selves.
