Whether you're looking to develop your skills, take on new challenges, or make a meaningful impact, Gamma is the place to do it.\nWhat is the role responsible for?\nAs a Lead Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining Gamma’s Group Products suite, including proprietary OSS/BSS and UCaaS & CCaaS solutions. This role exists to lead technically complex development work across the platform, ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and high performing, while supporting and mentoring engineers and driving best practice across the team.\nWhat will you be doing day-to-day?\nHere are a few examples of what you could be involved with:\nLeading technically complex development across the platform, building new features and maintaining existing systems using TypeScript, Node.js, and React\nCollaborating with product, architects, and engineering teams to scope, plan, and estimate solutions that are scalable and future-proof\nDesigning and developing secure, high-performance APIs and integrating third-party tools and services\nProducing and reviewing detailed Solution Design documentation, ensuring consideration of security, performance, and system-wide impact\nDriving high standards through code reviews, mentoring engineers, and contributing to CI/CD and testing best practices\nApplying site reliability engineering principles to improve observability, resilience, and incident response\nMonitoring, profiling, and optimising application performance, including capacity planning to meet SLAs\nIdentifying technical debt and recommending improvements to systems, processes, and tooling\nWhat you’ll bring\nYou don’t need experience in everything listed, but we’re especially keen to hear from people with some of the following skills:\nStrong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and modern frontend frameworks such as React or Angular\nDeep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and API design principles\nExperience working with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, Playwright), and version control\nProven experience running large-scale production systems in AWS and working with Kubernetes/containerisation\nStrong debugging, performance optimisation, and problem-solving skills across distributed systems\nExperience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical leadership within teams\nKnowledge of observability, monitoring, and site reliability engineering practices\nExperience with Java and/or telecoms technologies (e.g. VoIP, WebRTC) is highly beneficial\nWhat do we offer you?\n25 days annual leave + birthday\nSubsidised private medical insurance\n5.1% matched pension contributions\nEnhanced parental leave\nLife assurance and Income protection\nShare save and incentive plans\nElectric Vehicle and Cycle scheme\nEmployee discounts\nVolunteer day\nA few things to note\nWe require all candidates to be eligible to work in the UK and pass a basic DBS check.\nIf you don’t meet every requirement but feel you could thrive in this role, we would still encourage you to apply.\nGamma is an equal-opportunity employer committed to building diverse, inclusive teams where everyone feels valued and can be their authentic selves.
