This role exists to provide both technical leadership and hands-on engineering expertise across systems within the Group Products space, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable while meeting business and customer needs.\nWhat will you be doing day-to-day?\nHere are a few examples of what you could be involved with:\nLeading, motivating, and organising a small team of engineers to deliver projects and product enhancements\nDesigning technical systems and software solutions, ensuring best practices across architecture and non-functional requirements (e.g. security, scalability, performance)\nWriting code and implementing new features across modern technology stacks\nReviewing code and driving high standards for quality, testing, and maintainability\nChampioning automated testing and CI/CD best practices\nFacilitating Agile ceremonies and managing delivery using Jira in line with Group processes\nSupporting product discovery, scoping, and accurate estimation of time and cost\nIdentifying technical debt and driving continuous improvement and innovation within the team\nWhat you’ll bring\nYou don’t need experience in everything listed, but we’re especially keen to hear from people with some of the following skills:\nProven experience in team leadership, coaching, and mentoring engineers\nStrong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues\nExperience designing and building scalable systems and APIs\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions\nExperience with modern technologies such as Node.js / TypeScript and React or Angular\nKnowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, version control, and Agile delivery practices\nFamiliarity with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) and containerisation (e.g. Kubernetes)\nExperience with Java and telecoms industry knowledge (desirable)\nWhat do we offer you?\n25 days annual leave + birthday\nSubsidised private medical insurance\n5.1% matched pension contributions\nEnhanced parental leave\nLife assurance and Income protection\nShare save and incentive plans\nElectric Vehicle and Cycle scheme\nEmployee discounts\nVolunteer day\nA few things to note\nWe require all candidates to be eligible to work in the UK and pass a basic DBS check.If you don’t meet every requirement but feel you could thrive in this role, we would still encourage you to apply.\nGamma is an equal-opportunity employer committed to building diverse, inclusive teams where everyone feels valued and can be their authentic selves.
