Our construction management services are focused on helping ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to established quality standards.\nWhat you’ll be challenged to do:\nAs an Assistant Resident Engineer, you will provide technical support for construction management activities on multi-disciplinary public works projects. Working under the supervision of the Project Manager (PE) or their designated representative, you will support field and office activities and perform related technical tasks required to advance the project.\nIn this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:\nRead and comprehend client Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), contract plans, technical specifications, including construction details, methods of measurement and basis for payment, approved submittals, Change Orders, and other project documentation.\nMonitor, inspect, and document field construction activities and prepare detailed daily Inspector’s Reports, including engineering sketches, quantity measurements, calculations, and related documentation.\nMaintain a depository for daily Inspector’s Reports from all inspectors assigned to the project.\nTrack and check Time & Materials calculations for contractor additional work and overtime.\nTrack and document the status of Special Inspector activities.\nTrack and check applications for payment from outside agencies for Force Account work, such as MTA user groups, including track, power, signals, and communications, as required to protect their assets.\nUtilize proprietary and client construction management and scheduling software, such as e-Builder, Procore, and P6.\nCollaborate with senior staff to prepare agendas for periodic and ad hoc meetings addressing project issues, including Progress Meetings, permitting, Environmental Health & Safety, Submittals, and other project matters.\nPrepare records of meetings, finalize documentation following client and internal review, and distribute to project stakeholders.\nPrepare and update PowerPoint presentations for stakeholder meetings conducted through Microsoft Teams.\nAssist in verifying monthly Applications for Payment, including calculating quantities.\nAssist in finalizing project closeout activities.\nPrepare and update internal project progress reports, including Estimate to Complete (ETC) and narrative technical reports.\nPerform other related responsibilities as required.\nWhat you’ll bring to our firm:\nBachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.\n\nMinimum of one (1) year of experience working in a construction management office supporting a Project Manager (PE) or their designated representative on a multi-disciplinary public works project.\n\nOSHA 10-Hour Construction certification.\n\nFundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification or the ability to obtain certification within one (1) year.\n\nGood organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.\n\nDemonstrated ability to work as part of a project team.\n\nWorking knowledge of construction management and scheduling software such as e-Builder, Procore, and P6.\n\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.\n\nAbility to read and understand construction plans, specifications, Change Orders, submittals, and related technical documentation.\n\nThis position includes a mix of field and office work environments.\n\nMay be required to work in confined spaces on occasion with appropriate safety procedures in place.\n\nMust have the physical ability to navigate uneven terrain encountered on construction sites, climb ladders, work at heights on scaffolding, and sit or stand for extended periods.\n\nOther duties may be assigned as necessary.\n\nCompensation:\nThe salary range for this role is $75,000 - $92,000.
