We oversee every construction phase to help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.\nWhat you’ll be challenged to do: This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Construction Inspector who thrives in a collaborative team environment. This individual inspects and oversees construction work to ensure that results, procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications. This individual will serve as a daily point of contact with clients and contractors, and manage all aspects of a project including construction observations, material testing and maintaining documentation.\nIn this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:\nMeasure distances to verify accuracy of dimensions of structural installations and layouts. \nVerify levels, alignment, and elevation of installations. \nObserve work in progress to ensure that procedures followed, and materials used conform to specifications. \nPrepare samples of materials for laboratory testing. \nExamine workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standard and approves installation. \nInterpret plans and specifications for Contractor and discuss deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction. \nRecord quantities of materials received or used during specified periods, develop pay estimates and change orders. \nMaintain daily log of construction and inspection activities and compare progress reports. \nMonitor several types of work activity, however not simultaneously. \nMaintain construction safety practices and work methods for compliance \nManage documents using electronic platforms such as AASHTOWare, e-Builder, or Transport \nWhat you will bring to our firm:\nHigh school diploma. \n8-12 years of construction inspection experience. \nExperience in construction, inspection, material testing, or transportation engineering for highway projects structures on state NCDOT, municipal, and/or municipal projects. \nA safety-first mindset. \nStrong writing, listening and communication skills. \nWhat we prefer you bring:\nACI Field and/or NCDOT certification are recommended, but not required. \nAbility to work collaboratively with peers, clients and contractors to solve problems and conflicts. \nAbility and desire to lead. \nCompensation: The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $85,000.
