Explore some of our signature projects.\nWhat you’ll be challenged to do:\nYou will be part of the electrical design group responsible for the analysis and design of electrical lighting systems related to, but not limited to, facilities, utilities, and infrastructure. Project types include private/public facilities, local county and city agencies, local DOT (Department of Transportation) jurisdictions within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and surrounding states.\nAs a Highway Lighting / Building Illumination Engineer, you will assist in the development of calculations, reports, code analysis and design documents in highway, tunnel, building interior/exterior lighting and electrical design. Calculations will include feeder/branch circuit design, voltage drop, lighting/photometrics, grounding and other calculations related to the design and analysis of electrical lighting systems. Design documents include specifications, calculations, site drawings, sectional views, electrical details and energy code compliant analysis.\nIn the capacity, you will be responsible for the following:\nPerform site survey of existing conditions.\nReview Submittal\nRespond to RFI’s\nDevelop project specifications and cost estimates for construction.\nCoordinate work with other disciplines (architectural, civil, bridge, highway/roadway, etc.) during the design process.\nDevelop Final record drawing at the completion of projects.\nProvide support during construction activities as needed. \nParticipate in meetings with clients, government agencies, utility companies and project teams.\nWhat you will bring to our firm:\n5 plus years of relevant experience.\nBachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Architectural Engineering is preferred.\nEngineer In Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) is a plus, but not required.\nPreparation of technical and cost proposals for the electrical design components of various transportation and facility projects.\nPreparation of lighting analysis including developing highway lighting warrants, criteria, reports and designs.\nUnderstanding and application of codes and standards including NEC, NFPA, IBC for completing electrical and lighting design work.\nProficiency in the use of the AASHTO, IES Roadway Lighting Publications, and associated design manuals. \nProficiency with VISUAL and/or AGi32 lighting analysis software.\nCapacity to independently prepare Roadway Lighting designs and familiarity with one or more NJDOT, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, PANYNJ, NJTA, TBTA, MassDOT, DDOT, PennDOT design standards and practices is preferred. \nExperience with Bentley’s OpenRoads, Autodesk’s Civil 3D, AutoCAD/REVIT and familiarity with BIM is a plus.\nPrevious DOT and Design-Build experience is a plus.\nExperience in low voltage power distribution, communications and systems engineering primarily for the transportation/transit industry is a plus.\nExcellent interpersonal and organizational skills are required.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills are required.\nAbility to successfully function in a fast-paced cooperative team environment spanning across multiple offices.\nDesire to participate and excel with a broad range of project types, roles, customers, and tasks.\nAbility to lead analysis, design and preparation of electrical engineering elements and plans for agencies.\nAssists in determining project schedules, cost estimates, and budget requirement.\nCompensation: The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $150,000.
