Explore some of our signature bridge projects here.\nWhat you’ll be challenged to do:\nGFT has an opening for a Senior Project Bridge Engineer with greater than 5 years of experience in bridge design and construction services. We are seeking an individual who can perform and lead design on CTDOT bridge projects, coordinate with other disciplines, attend internal and client review meetings to develop current and future projects, and provide day-to-day technical leadership and apply technical expertise. There will be opportunities to perform and review structural design calculations for replacement and , rehabilitation projects. Perform structural analysis and load rating of bridges, preparation and review of contract plans, specifications and estimates . Assignments and technical guidance and overall direction will be provided by Project Managers.\nIn this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:\nDesigning and analyzing structural components of bridges and related structures.\nPerforming and Checking design calculations for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, client contract requirements, and related specifications. \nDeveloping details of bridge components for contract drawings and coordinating with CAD personnel.\nCalculating quantities and developing construction cost estimates.\nProviding construction services support, Reviewing shop drawings. Organize submittals and address questions from contractors during the construction phase of projects.\nPerforming load rating analyses and preparation of load rating reports.\nPerforming bridge and tunnel inspections and preparation of inspection reports.\nPreparing engineering design reports\nInforming Project Managers of workload and any changes in project schedule or scope or additional services.\nProviding technical guidance to less experienced engineers and checking their work\nAssisting or participating in the preparation of business proposals, PowerPoint presentations\nWhat you will bring to our firm:\nBachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering with an emphasis in structures from an ABET-accredited university or college.\nRegistration as a licensed Professional Engineer in CT preferred but not required \n5-10+ years of experience in bridge design and familiarity with CTDOT Design Manuals and AASHTO LRFD \nExperience in new bridge design including design build, bridge rehabilitation, administration of construction services load ratings and/or inspection of bridges.\nExperience with structural design software such as AASHTOWare BrR, Midas 3D Civil, STAAD Pro, MDX, CSiBridge, LUSAS and/or other structural analysis software and applications such as MathCAD.\nStrong knowledge and ability of reading plans and shop drawings and evaluating contractor compliance with construction plans and specifications.\nTeam oriented engineer and strong communicator with ability to work concurrently within multiple projects demands and transitioning priorities.\nWorking knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.\nMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.\nValid Driver's License.\nActively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.\nCompensation:\nThe salary range for this role is $125,000 - $155,000; Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.\nFeatured Benefits:\nHybrid (in-person and remote) work environment.\n\nComprehensive benefits package including wellness programs, parental leave, and pet insurance, in addition to medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.\n\nTax-deferred 401(k) savings plan.\n\nCompetitive paid-time-off (PTO) accrual.\n\nTuition reimbursement for continued education.\n\nCommitment to professional development, access to internal and external training programs, and support of active participation in professional organizations.\n\nIncentive compensation for eligible positions.\n\nAt GFT, a privately held AEC firm, we innovate where transportation, water, power and buildings converge.
